I used a round spark plug gap reading on Denso Iridiums I got from Honda. I read after that you are not suppose to. Did I ruin the plug?

That depends, you're not supposed to gap the plugs as for one thing, they're pre gapped. Two, the electrode is very fragile so if you bent or broke it, you need a new plug.

How many miles have you got on the car? May I ask why you're replacing the spark plugs?

I have to agree, 40k is way too early for something that is normally replaced after 100k miles. They're still breaking in ;)

Did you try an adjust the gap ?
Just inspecting/measuring is not going to harm it, but if you tried to alter gap by putting pressure on center electrode thats not good .
