I've got a 2 week old 2016 Touring V6 coupe

Should i plan on treating my leather Interior so it lasts well through the years.

Thanks.

How often do you guys clean and condition your leather? What brand do you use?

I've been cleaning about once every 2/3 weeks, but my seats are already showing wear after 4 months..

I condition my leather at least once a month. Even if I rarely have passengers in my car, and the passenger seats go unused, once a month is my norm.

Treat yours once a year, and take a big hit on resale value.

I kidnap my Honda service advisor, slather him in leather conditioner, and then throw him in my Honda with an agitated cougar. Works well for THIS 7th Gen EX-L owner!

I would treat the leather a minimum of twice a year. The leather in modern mainstream cars is coated, so products designed for vinyl, like 303 Aerospace Protectant will work well. Don't waste money on pricey leather products, unless you just want to use them. The product will never actually contact the leather surface under the PVC/vinyl coating anyway.

Sounds pretty hassle free on your part!

What's her name? Does she have a website?

She uses Lexol about twice a year. Used it on my 03 coupe and at 200k miles, had to replace one small panel on driver's seat. Current 8th gen at 105k just some creases on driver's seat.

+1 303 is like sunblock for your leather.
BTW, I also use 303 on my headlights. It protects the polycarbonate from UV, which prevents hazing.

The big point of this is that the leather is encased in a plastic coating. Spending money on serious leather cleaners & coatings is a waste of money. Look for superior products that protect the plastic since they will never reach the leather. Aerospace 303 is one of the best providing it is used according to directions. This will also work on the dash and interior plastics as well including the door cards.

Poorboy's also has some superior products for this.

I can't speak highly enough of pinnacle black label leather and vinyl coating. Excellent product! I use it on my work shoes and it keeps them looking impeccable.

There are hundreds of posts around here about how fancy leather seats are covered in plastic and any overpriced foo-foo stuff you put on them does NOT get through the plastic and touch the leather. Are the door panels coated too? Dunnoh, they are probably vinyl like the older cars.

When did Honda start coating the seats in vinyl? I hope it makes the seats last longer and they resist creasing and cracking more. My sixth generation held up pretty good, but there was some substantial wear on the driver's side as far as creases.

I don't know, but it's now an industry standard. Oh, and it's not really a coating. It's more of an infusion. The vinyl goes through and through.
