Well, that is not entirely true! There is a fix BUT! Youll have to cut splice the wiring to either, or bot and run them to the accessory lead in the ignition/ steering column and fuse them individually the nice thing is, if you upgrade to say a 14 or 16 Guage wire, you can fuse it a little larger and have a little more current pass through for like larger inverters or whatnot! :)
Just be careful with higher current acc , while adding thicker gauge wire will help, the socket itself is only rated at 120w (10amps) ,thats what OM lists .
