Hey guys.. Long time no talk.. Sorry-- Im working on that lol..
But...
I still live with my parents.. Yes im 20.. and im saving to buy a house for the next year.. But anyway.. on to the story..

My mother.. in her 40 years of age.. Says that she wants a "grandma car" now that my step-sister had a son-- So 3-4 months ago, we ordered her 08 535xi.. and it finally came in, so like 2 weeks ago, we traded this 04 330ci in, and last friday we got one of the first 535s in the country..

So i took some last minute pics of the old 330 and decided to post them, they might be a little fuzzy, but they werent like that until i loaded them into shutterfly, on my computer they look great..

Funny thing is, the 3 series was only on the lot 2 days before it sold already..

The 5 is AMAZING, i love it.. I will post pics after the 11th when we get the windows tinted.. It'll look sick.

Like the 3... the 5 is a good car though... although I can't afford either

i'm just waiting for him to start complaining about the beemer's repair bills..... <sets watch>

:lmao: :deal:

3 series is too small for me. 5 is a nice ride, but lots of $$$.

I'll take the M45 instead :naughty: :naughty:

Now, about those repair bills. Hopefully it will have less rattles. Ever since we warmed back up my car's been a rattle box. It goes into the dealer on Tuesday to get them all fixed. I should have a loaner the rest of the week.

Lets hope they get my rattles fixed!

Nice ride. Post the pics of the new 535. Those are nice rides. BTW....if you don't mind, what did that run your mom?

but, he'll (or his mom) will be in the shop for the repairs..... you would still be wasting time at dealer for that, even though your pocketbook stays the same.....

535xi for a "grandma car"?

i'd gladly take that grandma car anyday. :D

BMW gives courtesy cars with service, so it'd take like 5 mins to drop off your car and drive away the loaner.

I'd much rather not use my warranty. Yes loaner cars are nice, but you still have to take time off to bring your car in. I hate it. I wish things didn't break.....

Wow!! That's a beautiful car!! I wouldn't mind one of those, as long as BMW pays for repairs for the rest of its life. LOL

Actually, surprisingly enough, the new 5 is our 6th bmw alltogether..

And we havent had ANY problems with any.. That 3 had one weatherstrip come off, that was it.. I had a hell of alot more issues with my 03 Accord with 20-30k on it then any beemer weve ever had..

We havent had ANYTHIGN replaced on any of the beemers under warranty.. and yeah, the last 3 have had the maint. plan so all you have to pay for are tires..

I think the list went something like
95-325i conv
97-328i-sedan
98- m3 conv
00- 328i-dinan edition sedan.
ew.. the mistakes.. 03-jag s-type r, and a 03-xj
04-330ci (the blue one)

The 330 was like 48 something..
the new 5 was 64, she got every available option except the sport package.. She says shes over the big rim thing.

How much does your mom drive a year?

Nice car!

I think she might put like 10-12k on a car a year.. Well, the 04 we got in april of 04.. and now we traded it in 3 years later, and it had 22k.. She hated that car, she said it rode like a skateboard-- Although it kindof did..

Idk, we test drove everything from an RL, to an E-class, and a Range rover sport-- i know kindof random..
But she said that she just likes the feel of the beemers in comparisson..

Oh..
We were talking at dinner last night, either we are going to keep the truck (05 f150 fx4) and get a 6 series convertible as the extra car.. (we have always had an extra jeep in the garage, the last one we sold last summer. it was an 04 Rubicon) or.... he wants to trade the truck and get a white Range Rover-- That is my dream vehicle.. OMG..

hey tyler,

it's ur turn.... i have gotten on him about enough things already.....

won't go into specifics....

You know, i do want a car that i can put gas in and *know* it will start and get me through my day without a cel or a sensor of some kind going wrong, or be able to press the lock button on my keyfob wihtout my windshield wipers wiping (yeha.. it happens from time to time in my vw)

But...

Nothing drives like a european vehicle in my opinion.. Nothing..
There is something about driving moms 5 series last night on the interstate running 95 and feeling like you are going 40.. no wind noise, road noise.. and barely even turning 2800 rpms..
The new twin turbo rocks your socks.

PS-- I will have my japanese vehicle soon (hehe) (I need that reliable transportation right now, when i am more finacially able i will get my fun car)
I am buying a house by next spring.. All me.. (GO ME!) because i have saved every dime i have made in the last year, for my hefty down payment, my parents are matching what i saved, and im going to do well for myself.. But...
Im down to this..

An Acura TSX (Get nice discounts from work, nice car.. still not sure)
I have a Lexus customer who is a manager at Faulkner Mazda, and he is giving me a Mazda6 Grand Touring with nav and everything for under invoice.
(Have you seen the violet gray with tinted windows.. cant wait )
Or..
Possibly a new Camry SEv6 with nav.. not too sure, but we just got a magnetic gray one with black leather.. although they dont have hid headlights, and those are at the top of my list..

Oh well.. Thats about it-- Im just trying to decide what i want.. I know the 6 isnt near the quality of the acura, but... i can get one for a shade under 26 with all the discounts, and im going to lease it so who cares about resale..
The leases are cheap on them as they are doing $1500 of lease cash.. Plus they handle greeeat.. and look ncie

I haven't heard many positive (long term) reviews of the higher end Mazda 6's. I think a few on here owned them previously too.

On the european feel thing. I don't really think what you're saying is something you can't find on a Japanese car (or any upscale car at that). My mom and I did a 6 hour trip in a 1997 Acura RL Premium Sedan a week ago. It handled beautifully on the freeway, and just like you said your moms BMW does, the 3.5V6 in it didn't make much noise at all, and it was quiet to boot. I can only imagine what new RL's feel like, if that 10+ year old one was so nice.

About the Acura TSX, I don't think you'll like it if you want a car that's quiet on the freeway. Especially if you get an automatic. The engine is very high revving in my opinion, and can be clearly heard on the freeway. Some like that, some don't. My mom didn't, and that's one of the reasons why she didn't buyout her lease. I'd drive a TSX as a city car, but I think I would rather have a TL for my highway star.

If you go with the Camry don't expect much 'sport' from it at all. From what I understand the SE variant isn't much more than a body-kit and sporty features.

Well good luck, and keep us posted.

It's all in the layout... Front engined, rear wheel drive... possibly wider rear tyres = The BMW's handle excellently.

Im sure they drive nice..

But still nothing like a 60k bmw..

There is just that whole solid feeling.. In my opinion, some of the older hondas and acuras just feel like the sheetmetal is paper thin, compared to the "tank" feeling that a BMW gives you..

Yeah-- The whole what kind of car that i want thing changes from day to day..

If i do decide to keep my car another year or something, and pay it off, then i might even consider a Passat 3.6.. They are amazing imo.. If youve ever driven one-- you would know, they handle great, tight construction, and as long as its under warranty the whole time i have it, they do pick up and delivery at the vw dealers around here.. so idk.. still something to think about.
Even though my VW has been towed 3 times in the last 6 months, i still love the damn thing.. There is something about taking off and hearing my blow off valve when i shift that puts a smile on my face, that and taking off ramps at 90 with no tire squeal.

I think that the auto TSX's have fine noise at hwy speeds, it revs less in top gear then my jetta does? The TL's are amazing, but you see one ever 10th car here in harrisburg... The TSX's are a little more rare.

I am also curious to see what the new TSX and Accord will look like in production.. I get new hondas for under invoice.. So im intrigued..
I kinda just wish i still had my Accord Coupe though :( it would be payed for and would probobly only have a little more then 40k on it :(

We had someone trade in a 03 accord Lx sedan AT-- With 170k
