For real, I would follow all the maintenance advice provided by others. This car will last you a while if you do all the work properly.

I had the option to buy a 2001 Accord with 124k for 450$ but I avoided due to those 6th gen Transmissions. I hope yours is ok.

I thought it's only the V6 AT that had issues?

I'm going to install a transmission cooler too. I had a 1998 Mazda 626 and it had the crappy CD4E transmission that needed an additional transmission cooler.

I don't know if 6th Gen I4 AT will have issues with cooling if you are driving normally. I would just do some fluid change and see if the transmission behaves erratically after that.

And funny you say that 8th Gen is noisy on highways. I didn't find my 8th Gen I4 Sedan noisy, but then again, I am used to loud tire noises and such on my sports cars, so my bars might be a bit low.
