So I’m looking to upgrade my current engine in my 95 Honda Accord. It’s currently got a 2.2l sohc f22b engine and im not too sure one where to start. I’m looking for a vtec and somewhere around the h series or b series. I’m not too interesting in doing too much fabrication so I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction

The H22A red top from the JDM Accord Euro-R/Prelude SiR would be awesome. 217hp/163tq.

The US spec H22A4 from the 5G Prelude is good too. 197hp/156tq. I witnessed a ‘99 Prelude with this engine do almost 150 mph 20 years ago.

The older US spec H22A1 from the 4G Prelude VTEC is nothing to scoff at either. 187hp/153tq.

Whatever you do, don’t even consider an H23 non-VTEC engine. My experience (20 years ago) is that they threw rod bearings like crazy.

You will need motor mounts, compatible transmission, likely custom shafts, and the ECU.
