Music Automatically Playing

1751 Views 10 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  Flyboy
When I start my car, it automatically connects to my phone (which is good) but then it will start playing either Google Music or from a Podcast player (which is bad). I have an Android phone, Nexus 4.

I just got the car today and have searched trying to find a solution, but so far haven't. I would like to not have anything play unless I explicitly start it from my phone.

Thanks.

Choose a different source (like CD) until you want to activate the source you want.
Thanks. If I do this, will I still be able to use blue tooth for phone calls while the input is set to CD?
Which model? It usually picks up playing what I was playing last on my phone. If I don't want music I just hit the power button to turn it off.

Sorry, it is a 2013 Accord EX. Thanks for the options. I will either hit the power button on the car radio or change the input.

Slightly off topic, should I have gotten a radio code for me to enter if the battery gets disconnected? In my previous two Hondas it had one, but I don't see it in the manual for the 2013 Accord EX.
No radio code anymore on the 2013 models.
no you dont need a radio code. if you disconnect the battery, youll just have to hold a button in for a few seconds and it will program it.

for auto playing the music id say youre lucky, mine does the exact opposite of yours, basically what youre going for. it shows the last played song on the radio from google music but wont play, even when i press the play button on the touch screen. i have to open google music on my phone and start it from there to get it to play. very annoying imo so i would count yourself lucky that you can simply press pause on your radio to start/stop the music.
Threadjack: I want a Nexus 4 :(
I love mine. I got it recently when the price was reduced by $100. The Nexus 5 (or whatever it will be called) should be out this month, according to rumors... Hopefully the ordering process won't be such a cluster as with the Nexus 4.
I have my iPad connected through Bluetooth and I have to select the music app on the iPad and it will play.
