I really needed a SUV for living in this area. I sold my beloved Accord. Her new owners will enjoy her a lot! She was barely broke in with 36,500 miles on her in nearly 7 years!

I got an older MDX with a wonderful maintenance record...all in they dealer's system & a new tranny just a few miles ago. She's granite green...looks gray most of the time with a black leather interior. She has factory Nav that we ordered the 2010 disc for. We added DVD to the top since she didn't have it. I wanted the headrest style, but her posts are too narrow. Her running boards are on order. I fell & banged my knee up climbing in yesterday!! MUST have boards!! We took her in for new tires on Saturday. We put the same thing that's on the Ridgeline, Michelin cross terrains. They've been great on the truck in the water & sand & mud.

Although she's not in need, we will be changing all her fluids & filters within a couple of weeks.

Oddly she matches my princes eyes.... & her drives a blue truck that sometimes matches mine.:D

Her Bose speakers sound OK, but later I'll still have Infinitys put in all the way around. Being the "touring" package, she has 2 tweeters, 4 door, 1 woofer & 1 ceiling speaker. So 8 of them!

I lost the drive by wire & it feels weird to push the peddle now. I'll get used to it. Her pep is not quite what I had, but it's OK.

I gained memory seats! I gained the auto dimming mirror. I gained the tilt down side mirror when you go in reverse. I gained 4WD. I gained more butt spots. I gained more clearance for the puddles here.

Her decals are on their way.:)

A little mermaid "Ariel" & a DA one & I'm trying to think of a saying... I had "never stop dreaming" on the back of the Accord, Tinkerbell & 2 DAs.

We have "still laughing after all these years" on our checks & thought about putting that on the MDX. I think it's too long though. :dunno:

Any ideas?

Ariel was chosen for the color & she was bought to rescue me in times of flooding rains.....

You can put "Still Laughing After All These Years" in the middle on the top of the back window and it won't be too long as long as it's shrunk down to a proper size. Have the DA.net decals on the front or on the lower right/left side of the rear window with Ariel on the reverse side. If you happen to have another DA.net sticker, put that on the front window. ^^

Congratulations on throwing out old and embracing new 'Ariel'. Badge on front end suggests 'A' riel. My son has an '05 MDX and his family loves using it. Living in an area with mountains, winter driving conditions, 4 wheel drive is a necessity. Regards

Richard

Princess - nice ride - very good condition for her age. Is that an 03 or 04? You can tell the 05's since the tail pipes were dual on both edges, not together. But given it has the earlier tranny and motor tuning, I'm sure you'll be happy with the way it drives once you get used to the difference between that and the Accord. The wife loved her 04 Pilot, but for some reason could never get used to driving the 06 Pilot - it was the change in drivetrain tuning that made her like the older model BETTER. Go figure.

Anyway, looking forward to pictures after you get those running boards on! The entry height is one major reason the wife moved to the Freestyle from the Pilot - her arthritic knees were the reason. Even with boards, it was tough for her to get in....

Congrats on the New arrival:thmsup::thmsup:

I'm sure you will be quite happy, those MDX's hold up very well.

I1:wave:

That is when the MDX was one of the nicest looking cars on the road. Now they look like crap.

Congratulations!

:thmsup::thmsup:

Nice MDX. How many miles does it have on it? I'm sad to see your Accord go, it was probably the nicest and most well kept '03 around. Congrats and enjoy!

Congrat Princess. Love the color. My wife loves the MDX, but can't afford one right now.

I LOVE that memory seat!! It's an '01, so it doesn't quite have the features of the newest ones....but it will remember with either the FOB or by the push of a button. Still working on that sweet spot. I think I have it now....but I thought I did yesterday too. :dunno: The seat goes forward....forward....forward, then up....up....up.:D It IS like having a booster seat! I feel like I can see for miles!!

Today she got all wheels balanced, the tire place didn't have a high tech machine & it turns out we were right to not trust it. It was off. She also got all her fluids changed, all new wiper blades, put on the HDS to check for hidden (past) codes & the rear view mirror tightened. While up there all the bushings were checked again. I'd heard an odd sound when driving & wanted it checked. It was a rock. It had been wedged next to the exhaust close to the front. No odd sounds on the way home. She got the rear rotors turned 'cuz I was feeling some pulsation. When checked they were a bit unparalleled. He also did an alignment. The rear was just a pinch off. New air & cabin filter too.

She has 125K on her. We looked at '05 & older. They all had 80K-200K on them. Most were about 150K & they wanted about double what I paid for them. I'd planned to go with an '03 or '04, but this one was in better condition than any of the ones I found. The biggest difference seemed to be that the Touring in the newer ones had RES already & a back up camera if it had Nav. So far the tilt mirror has been enough.

Her steering in parking lots is amazingly easier than the Accord was. At low speeds she feels more responsive. Her get-up-and-went isn't quite what I had, but it will make your head hit the seat.:naughty: 40-65 acceleration is great, which is what most of us use. (on ramps & getting around the farmers)

She had about 80% left on the pads, so no new brakes now.

I'm looking so forward to the running boards. I have figured out a method to get in without losing control of my first foot, but it's going to wear the seat faster. With a step I can just stand up then sit down in the seat.

No regrets. You know I LOVED my Accord very much. She just wasn't what is needed for life here.

Another thing noticed.... when in the Accord truck drivers treated me as if I really wasn't supposed to be on these roads. My prince noticed it too when using my car. Now I'm treated as an equal. It may be a smaller truck, but it's a truck.

This is still a little weird... the first time since 1981 that we haven't had an Accord!!:paranoid:

BRING ON THOSE RAINS!! I'm ready now!!:lmao:

Rick,
 No, it's Jarrison's!!

That's a good one Rick. I'd say one of the best zingers I've seen around here :).

'Grats on the new Ride. I know what you're talking about when it comes to being in a small car. Its like night and day with the Elantra Vs Tundra. People treat you different with the bigger vehicles.

Congrats! But whats with the purple on the back of the seats and side walls of the door? :paranoid:

It's really not purple...it's black carpet. It's not even faded, but pictures purple for some reason. I guess it was the cloudy day or something. :dunno: Black carpet & black carpeted mats (so far, I want all weather ones) & black leather. Maybe the camera couldn't handle it. It wasn't dark enough for the flash to go, but I think it really needed it. I should've taken it off "auto".

There's lots of Tundras here. That actually surprised me at first. I expected to see all "big 3" trucks. Seems pretty equal in the PUs. Not in the SUVs, there's more Chevys than anything else. I'll fit in better in the school pick up line now! :D I hope the kids recognize it tomorrow.:lmao: The boys like it, but they're used to watching for my Accord.

I think my prince was afraid I'd regret selling the Accord. I miss it. I miss the pristine-ness of it. I miss the smell. The MDX had some sort of air freshener in it that is nasty! I've scrubbed all the leather down, then treated it with leather smelling stuff & I still smell the vanilla crap. EEEEWWWW! Maybe I should buy the car fabreeze for the carpets. I don't know what it smells like though, it may be worse. To me, those fruity or vanilla scented "fresheners" smell like rotting fruit or a trash bin. I'm not sure why I associate those together....:dunno: I'd rather smell leather or plastic. It's been suggested that I park it with the windows down, but I'm afraid the mosquitoes would want to go for a ride!:paranoid:

Rick is definitely allowed the short jokes...he's met me & has seen just how real it is! I go about to his belly button! I did have to use a pillow to drive my mom's Chevy sedan as a teenager. So I guess maybe now one of those booster seats isn't all that far fetched!!

Nice!! Congrats on your MDX!! My dad was going to buy my little sister an '05 but after reading about tranny issues and the fact that she just turned 16, he decided against it.
