Yesterday, when I got out of the car, my foot hit this small part, attached with a wire and mounted on the driver side, just below the dash. It was put on with a couple of small self taping screw, into the plastic on the left side.
I stick it back in place just so it wasn't hanging there. Now I don't know where it went, as it came off the wire and I can't find it.
Does anyone know what the thing is? 2014 sport.

Sounds like a dealer installed alarm system based on your description. Did you deny one when you bought the car?

I bought it very slightly used from a Toyota Dealer.

I'll go out and get a shot.

Is this the part you knocked off, see image.

I don't think it is that. The missing piece was square and about 1.5"

Here is a photo, I hope.

On one of my windows is a "Karr Security Systems"sticker.
I think you guys are right and its an after market thing. It just didn't seem like Honda would mount it so poorly.
Thanks, guys!

That is not factory.

Most definitely aftermarket. Can't help you there, other than to say it probably is related to that alarm system.

Incredibly shonky work!

You should probably look for any other aftermarket bodges that might come loose at inopportune moments.

My 2015 accord sport came factory with that, OP. I bought my car brand new with no option for aftermarket alarm. I recognize the wire plug since i've removed it a few times due to me ripping the bottom part of my dash to install my aftermarket heated seats.

I've seen youtube videos of that same part on other 9th gen accords. Though i'm not much help since I don't know what it's for. The sales guy said it was for dealer security since their lot was open. I'm unsure of how much truth is in that. I thought about removing it but it would leave those holes in the plastic panel.

Boy, that's something I don't want to do now that it's in the teens here and I don't have a garage, these days. My ex does.
I checked Karr security and their systems do seem to have a number of pieces and a bunch of wiring. Think I will just see if I can get the missing piece.

You have heated seats!!!? That's the only thing I miss from my old car. I will have to check into that, but now, it's too friggen cold to mess around outside.

@ltsr Your didn't come from the factory with that. It came from the dealership with it. It's a known addon dealers install and try to sell it to the buyer.
Good to know. I was going to ask them to remove it before completing my purchase but lost track since I was excited to drive off the lot.

I installed aftermarket ones. Not sure where you are but it's worth all the hassle.

My guess is this is a "valet switch" on an aftermarket security system. I had a Viper alarm on my old 94 Accord. The valet switch is a momentary on/off switch and is used to disable the car alarm when you don't have the remote handy but do have the key.

One common example is when the battery in the remote dies, but the car is armed and you have spare batteries in the car. You unlock the door with your key, the alarm would go off, and you'd put your key in the ignition (turning the key back and forth from off to ignition 1) and press the valet switch.

I could be completely wrong though.

Today, I found the missing piece in the ice where I usually park. I warmed and put it back, with 15 lb rated double tape. The wire was too short to move it. so I'm sure I will have to deal with it at a later date.

Going to restaurants with Valets, sounds like kind of a pain in the butt.
James Bond never has problems, but as Harrison Fond said, "it's a movie."
Anyway, I just put it back together, and will hope for the best. It's still where it was when I hit it, but there wasn't a good alternative without slicing more wire in, which I didn't feel like doing now.
