Hello Fellow Honda lovers,

I have been craving for 2014 HONDA CIVIC SI for past 4 months and have been constantly in contact with HONDA dealerships around my area to see if they have one in stock.

So on yesterday I received a call from HONDA that they have just unloaded new 2014 CIVIC SI Sedan (dyno BLUE) and if I could stop by to test drive it. I had already my mind made up to buy this CIVIC SI.

I spend about 30 min with CIVIC SI and it like a very nifty little economy sports car.

Just so as I was driving in the Lot I happen to pass by a Coupe Accord in Black which caught my attention. I had them part both 2014 Accord and CIVIC SI side by side to comparison. But Accord even in its LX-S form felt like much better Car for the money I was going to pay. Even thought CIVIC SI had high performance engine which recommend usage of high octane Gas. 6- Speed Manual transmission/clutch on both Accord LX-S and CIVIC SI felt exactly the same. Felt like Accord had a much better built quality.

By anyways in the end I paid cash $23,200+Tax and brought the car home. I must say this Coupe is a very sexy looking Car. Since Budget allowed me to buy CIVIC SI only, and only thing I could find with this budget was LX-S and for some reason why Coupes are more expensive then Sedan. I would imagine that Sedan has a better resale value.

While Home I have been constantly comparing my 2012 Nissan Altima S SE. I don't know why but my Altima feel like its a better built quality from inside and outside.

Since I already have Altima with CVT, I purchased a Manual 6-Speed LX-S. Hopefully 2014 Accord LX-S was a better pick over 2014 CIVIC SI :thumbsdow.

My expectations are that this car will last for a long time and remain reliable. Wish me luck.

Nice looking ride! And your HONDA won't need a drop-cloth no catch all the leaking fluids! ;-)

I thought it was LX not LX-S...whats the S for? Difference between the two?

Congrats on the purchase

Congratulations on your new ride. The Civic is a compact sporty car in SI form. The Accord is a midsize car that is better equipped rides better and has more power. Both are great cars but in the long run the Accord is the better buy. I love the 9th generation Accord coupe. It looks much classier than the 2014 Civic Coupe SI which probably has a higher sticker price.

I am almost certain that the LX-S is the term for the base model coupe.

The coupe is not available with a sport edition. :paranoid:

Nice choice. But wow, you almost paid MSRP? That dealer loves you!

The LX-S coupe is sort of like a Sport sedan. It has a manual seat like the LX sedan, but has the door sail speakers like EX and above sedan. It has the rear lip spoiler like the Sport sedan and the paddle shifters like the Sport. Doesn't have dual exhaust or the 189 HP.

Bottom line - the LX -S coupe is somewhere between the LX and Sport sedan:dunno:

^^yeah you overpaid. what state are you? there's nirmally 3 day window and you can the damn dealer you found a similar car/trim for $21k

The Accord does not have more power than the Civic Si. 205 HP (Si) > 185 HP (Accord)

Big deal if you intend to flip it in a year. Otherwise, meh. I'm sure we all waste money we could be saving on something.

Now... about that garage...

LOL what about that Garage. I am not a Garage person but I was blessed with a home that came with fur Car Garage which is like a personnel Bunker for myself and the cars :dunno:

Hell I could have saved that money for Weather Tech Floor liners / Custom made seat covers or a Nose Bra.
