I like the idea of the LED turn signals. If it's just a matter of unplugging the stock bulbs and replacing them with the LED's, I'm in.

Yeap, which is when many LED's fail to exceed the performance of the normal halogen bulbs.

Nor do they show shots of all the requisite off-axis angles that the lights are to be visible at.

I have yet to come across a drop-in LED bulb that actually allows a light to meet all photometric requirements.

Unfortunately the drop-in LED bulbs just don't work properly. See this for the reasons why
