Hi guys, new to the forums.. this Thursday I will be going to test drive a 2011 Honda Accords LX-S. It has 24,307 miles, priced at $12,997. Clean car fax, 2 owners.

Currently I have a 2004 Audi A4 1.8T with a chip and some other mods.. probably seeing 210hp..

Couple of questions... Will I be disappointed switching to this accord.
Have you guys had any major problems with yours?
Are they expensive to fix/mod?
Is it a good price?
What are some mods I can do to squeeze out more HP than the 190 stock?

here are some pics of it

Well since I live in Canada I can't tell you much about whether the price is good or not I am going to leave that upto the US guys.

However I can tell you about my experience. The car is fun as long as it is a manual. In my opinion the automatic feels considerably slower than the manual. I have an EX which comes with a few more options than the LX-S and I would advise to try to find an EX+ if features such as ( sunroof, premium sound system) and few others that i may be forgetting is important to you.

I have added the Takeda SRI and I feel the car to be a bit more responsive, I dont know about the power gain but it is defiantly more responsive and make a much nicer sound.

As for the fixing/ maintenance of the car, I have never had to fix anything out of my own pocket all covered under warranty so I wouldnt know how much it exactly costs, and maintenance is around the same price as other cars in its price range, it is not that expensive, especially not as expensive as your Audi or other german/luxury brands

According to this website http://www.edmunds.com/honda/accord/2011/

All of the coupe trims are automatic.. I tried searching for a manual coupe 2011 or newer but could not find any. All I find is automatics.

The sedan model EX and LX show manual tranny. Probably varies by market.

To be honest, my Audi right now has a moonroof/sunroof, and I never use it. Living in Florida (heat of 95F) really no use for it.
I plan on installing my own sound system so the premium sound system of the EX model isn't too important for me.
$12,997 for a 2011 with 24,000 miles is a fantastic price for a coupe. They are going for almost $18,000 in So. Calif.

Yes, the price caught my by surprise too.. At first I thought it might of been in an accident or something, the auto check fax is clean. Nothing wrong with it.

I am going to test drive it Thursday, I wonder if it has some mechanical defect so they priced it low to get it out asap? Of course the dealer won't say that haha. But they do have a 5 day return warranty.

Is it certified used or still covered under the original warranty? Either way I agree it's a good price. Mine was about 14-15K just over a year ago (2008 LX-S w/ 60K miles - certified used).

Does not say it is certified. But from my understanding ( according to Edmunds ) BASIC WARRANTY 3 Yr./ 36000 Mi. So technically It should still be under the factory warranty for a couple more months.

I will have to double check all of this warranty info. on thursday when I test drive it.
Yeah, so I'm not getting that lx-s.. I knew the price was too good to be true.
Stopped by today quickly to see it, and the first thing the salesman says "do you know about the damage it has?"

Scraped and dented on both sides by the doors.. Would probably cost 2000-2400$ to fix..
Well that makes me feel a little better about how much I paid for mine. *edit* also, they won't certify cars w/ major cosmetic damage like that. Mine had some scrapes that really shouldn't have made it through the process but that's about the worst that should... My whole point is that if you want to avoid things like this and get a longer warranty.. you might just narrow your search down to the certified Hondas.

Still, not that bad of a deal. If the dents aren't that big(based on the photo's)
U can probably find a shop to fix it for $1,800. If $12,990 is the asking price, U can't probably negotiate it down at least $1,000. So $13,790 for a 2011 Accord Coupe with only 24,000 miles. Still be worth it.

Pictures don't really show anything. Trust me, it looks bad in person. I should of taken pics...
