NEW System update 5/24

Got in car this morning and had message SYSTEM UPDATE AVAILABLE. This is 2nd update, not one that we've previously seen reported. It addresses 3 separate sections to update. Last AUDIO section had fix for D015 error.

The Pandora Box for updates has opened. Yesterday there was a warning that the system must be off to update. This morning the following message says that two items from the update still require the system to be off. 12 hours wasn't enough. Almost like Win 11 PC...
Not sure why some have issues with updates. Mine completed while I was grocery shopping (1/2hr)
Hmmm I will have to check when I get home
Nothing here in my car, or the HondaLink app. Would be nice to be able to force a search for an update, but due to the D015 error ‘system unable to update’ I can see why.
Mine has updated 3? times in the last weekish? It says successful each time when I get back in the car.
Anyone else having trouble even getting it to acknowledge that there is an update? My EXL just endlessly spins a "cursor" and says something like "checking for update" and "press to continue in the background". The HondaLink app says there is no update available, and also shows no history of updates.

I received the three updates yesterday. Two completed yesterday. The third was completed this morning. Probably a complete coincidence, but I drove a couple of miles and the check engine light came on along with a warning that the car may have reduced power. I pulled over and restarted. The light remains on. I finished my drive to the office. The car seems to be operating normally. I have an appointment on Friday morning. The odometer just crossed 1000 miles yesterday. :(

Splashman I hope it gets figured out. Knock on wood but I put about 30 miles on mine today and so far, so good.

Ugg. I don’t want the update now.
I do not think that these updates can affect the parameters and functions contained in the ECM (Engine Control Module). These updates are only for TCU (Telematics Control Unit) and Audio System. Access to the ECM software is very limited without the ability to manipulate individual parameters.

Wasn't part of the updates, certain performance updates? If that's the case, how does that work without updating the ECM?

I can't find a detailed list of what has been updated this time. I thought that previously the list was in "Honda My Garage", but not now. What performance updates are we talking about? Car System or Audio System?
It's hard to believe that an ECM update could be done "over the air".

I'm sure you are right. It's probably just a coincidence. Hopefully it's just a random error that never pops up again.

This is probably not a random error, but the update concerns, among other things, performance enhancements for Telematics Units. This is what the latest update info says.
In practice, this means improving communication with Honda for "wireless tracking, diagnostics and communication to and from the vehicle". In other words, a form of real-time spying.

Chill out Tinfoil Hat Guy

Unless you are paranoid they are gonna see where you are sneaking off to when you tell your wife you are going to Home Depot on a Saturday afternoon
I thought the TCU was the radar out front behind the emblem?

Edit: I’m wrong again. TCU has something to do with the OTA updates.
