Was looking to do exhaust/header/intake and see there is no exhaust for my car. I don't want to get a custom one because all the ones I have heard sound like someone who ate too much taco bell.

So would an intake and header upgrade be worth the expense if I'm not changing the exhaust?

If you want more noise, get an intake. I've noticed no difference in power from ones with stock to ones with any kind of intake, whether it's underhood or down in the fender.
Just way too noisy.

I think many people think because it's so much noisier, it's got to make so much more power. I can only think of a few handful of cars/trucks that have so much intake restriction in the filtering area that can make a big difference in power output with a changed setup.

The manifold on the '03 is already a steel tube "header" anyway. Don't get me wrong, it's probably not as nice as a properly done true header, but will you notice anything? I don't really know. Does NY allow exhaust changes ahead of the cat for their inspections?

My Integra GSR did pull a little better with the DC header I put on, and it was actually quieter as the A pipe had the infamous broken dual wall pipe. I ran it with the cover off the airbox (it used a cone style filter in the box) and it was so ungodly loud, people would stare as it passed under wot.

I wish RSR would still make an exhaust for these cars, I had one on that, it was a little deeper and audible at light throttle and idle, no louder cruising, but full on it just screamed. No more though. :(

I guess I'll just get the UR pulleys and uprated brakes and call it a day with my car then. Can't think of anything else...

magnaflow does make good exhaust , it doesn't sound like fart can like the rest of them. DC sports also make header for the 7th gen accord. me too, i hate those loud anoying exhaust. funny how lots of people said that they turn lots of head when they drive by with their loud exhaust, they didn't realize yes they do turn lots of head because ur car moving too slow but really loud like their engine about to blow.

I read somewhere that a coup's designed exhaust system could be modified to fit a sudan. I believe it only involved cutting it apart and adding a section on pipe to it to get the exaust hangers to line up with the factory hangers. :dunno:

When you say intake .... are you talking replacing the factory aircleaner box and ductwork with something like a cold air intake system or are you talking about swaping out the stock intake maniford for the TSX intake manifold?

I guess the only real way to tell if there's a power difference from adding an intake would be to head towards a dyno before and after. But I was thinking of doing the same thing, intake, header and exhaust. However I wouldn't feel comfortable modifying an exhaust made for the coupe to fit the sedan for liability reasons. How much would an average intake/header/exhaust setup for a 7g i4 cost?

I thought it was the tsx IM or an after market header. Which would be better?

I say go for it. The stock intake seems very restrictive IMO. The resonator is huge, and the piping is long and leads right behind the radiator. After installing my CAI, I noticed a difference in performance. And it sounds great. As for the header, I read on another post while researching if I should get one or not, that someone else bought the stainless steel DC header, and noticed the gains. They also had a stock exhaust.

I had the CAI, TSX IM & OBX Header. In hind sight, I'd just get the TSX IM and do the airbox mod (Airbox mod is just removing the resonator located in the fender as it is a major restriction in the air intake system). The header looked nice, but I didn't feel much if any performance increase with the B-Dyno.

i have the dc ss header but stock exhaust, and in normal driving you can't feel the difference, but rev it beyond 5000 rpm and you can feel it pull a bit harder. It doesn't feel like the power drops off above 5500 rpm anymore. What I felt is pretty much what import tuner found when they dynod the dc headers on an 03 coupe.

I have also run both SRI and CAI intakes on my accord and for the accord the CAI definately makes more power. very noticable above 3500 rpm switching from a SRI. around town though, where rpms are lower, the SRI was more fun since it has a lot better low end throttle response, even if it made less power.

I'll be installing my tsx im pretty soon with all 3 p2r gaskets and have a set of pulleys on the way. Hopeing both mods make a noticable difference.

Please let me know about the TSX IM, and the pulleys. Are you getting UR pulleys? I've heard great things about the TSX IM, and good things about the pulleys.

I did the DC Sports stainless header and AEM shorty intake with a stock exhaust. In my opinion it was worth every cent. I bought the intake manifold but never put it on and sold it here. The short shift kit is also worth the small investment.

The short shift kit and underhood bushings(especially the under hood bushings) are well worth the price. Probably the best price to satisfaction ratio you can get on our cars.

I'm getting ralco underdrive pulleys. They are cheaper, and as far as I can tell, pretty much idential to UR pulleys.
