Hello all, I'm new here--and a new 2006 Accord EX owner. Just picked it up Saturday and had one question:

The odometer display shows, of course, the odometer, your choice of 'Trip A' or B, and the oil life percentage. My question is: can you, by pressing the odometer/Trip button, cycle through those display options and just end up with your odometer reading? Or, will the Trip A or B always be displayed next to the odometer reading? I called two dealers about this and they said that the Trip display will always be there next to the odometer reading. I find that odd. Is this true?

Thanks. If it is true, then I guess I'll have to live with it.

Thanks for any info,

Gus

Well, it's not a bad thing but every car I have ever seen this gives you the option to 'hide' the Trip feature. No big deal, I was just curious and the dealers I talked to seemed not to be too sure about it--thus, I came here to get the low-down!

Thanks,

Gus

Nope. There's no option to only show the Odo. Only option to see the Odo is w/ Trip A or Trip B.

Ok, then, I'll live with it. I appreciate the info!

No Problem.

Also, not sure if you got the welcome to the forum yet.

Great! Thanks, it's great to be here! Got rid of my 2005 Dodge ram 1500 (yeah, it had a HEMI) because I was tired of the horrible gas consumption, well, really, it's all about the gas prices: it was like I had two car payments!

Loving my Accord so far!

That's awesome. As you can tell, we all love our Accords as well.

What made you switch to Honda in particular? That's kinda a big swing from a Dodge Ram.

Also, a tip, you can put your Year, model, and trim of your Accord in your signature block so you don't have to repeat it so many times. You can access your sig in the "user CP" menu at in the dark blue bar.

Have a great time on this site. Its very addicting.

Funny, you're like the 3rd person that switched from a HEMI Dodge Ram, to an accord on here. God bless high fuel prices! You should feel good about yourself. You now own a car that pollutes like 5 times less! and will use way less oil (or gas whatever you wanna call it)!

Yeah, it is a big change. I just had no need for all that truck. I bought it last March--right before the gas prices jumped through the roof. It was an awesome vehicle--it was like driving a corvette!

Looked into the Civic first but it was too small and I was trading-in alot of truck and wanted to get back alot of car--the Accord has alot more going for it than the Civic, a great car, by the way. A bit too small for me, though.

Gonna give it a 'working-over' as I like to call my 'detailing' procedures! Although it is new, I will clean it my way, not the dealer's way.
