I'm back with a question before I change my own oil. I'm heading to autozobe to change my oil there and recycle it there. They have this type of oil on sale and I'm wondering if it's ok to put this in the Honda. Normally, I go to valvoline but i had a transmission line/hose that had lost a clamp and was about to come off until I fixed it. So, I'm doing all the mechanical work myself from here on out. Now, my Honda is a 97 Accord, 4 cylinder Auto. W/ 288,800 mi and still running strong. The oil is on sale for $26.99 with the filter included. The brand is STP 5w30 but it's HIGH MILEAGE oil. Not synthetic but high mileage. I'm switching from the valvoline to STP and saving a few dollars. All I know is to make sure the engine is cool so imma sit at AutoZone 1 hour and go ahead and replace the valve cover gasket and the O- rings at the top (the O- rings in the valve cover gasket) because there's oil in the spark plugs holes and oil on the wires. My question is would be STP high mileage oil b good for the Honda?? Also, in about 2 weeks I gotta hit the Honda dealership and buy 3 quarts of Z1 original Honda transmission fluid and change the tranny fluid because I haven't changed it since I've had the car.(2 years) My method to change the the tranny fluid is to drain 1 quart, drive for 1 month, change 2nd quart, drive for 1 month, then, drain last quart. Only a drain and refill, No flushing the transmission. Please help guys I got some tools and started fixing things myself but since this is my only car I don't want to go wrong. Thanks
