I have the paddles in my v6 coupe and like them. It's nice when your on the hwy and waiting for an opening to pass someone. I will use the paddles to drop down to 3rd or 4th gear right before the opening opens up and then your ready to zip around. My only complaint with the paddles is transmission related, I hate that it won't hold 1st gear with light throttle. Like when setting at a light fixing to turn right, i like to put the car in first, go thru the turn under light throttle and then romp on it as the road straightens up. Most of the time the car will automatically shift to second even if I'm using the paddles. So then the car will shift back to first when you floor it.

Sport mode helps but it will still shift to 2nd under lite throttle. I would like it to hold first to redline and then shift if I haven't shifted yet..lol.. Its fun to roll thru the turn in 1st and then romp on it at about 4k to redline if I can get it to hold first that is.

Yes the dash says 1M but the cpu will shift for you unless your in the throttle pretty good. Would be interested to hear from others to see if they experience the same thing. I have only noticed it doing this on the 1st to 2nd shift.

Ok is been 2 days ,and I have feel of them,I had a g37 from 2009.that was a real tranny, but what the accord does with paddles isn't bad,it's good for downshifting mostly and it works well

For a cvt ,that is!
If you want to try a "real" transmission give the VW DSG a workout. That transmission should be stock in every car on the planet under $40,000...lol... Next to the Porshe PDK the DSG is just fantastic for performance driving! It's a little rough from time to time in stop and go traffic until you get a good feel for how it functions. But between the launch mode and lightning fast shifts I was in heaven...lol

I'm not questioning anyone's preferences. If the DCT in the VW is so wonderful, then why aren't there more of them on the street? I see lots of Accords with CVT transmissions everywhere. A Corvette is a real performance car but they are not everywhere driven by everyone.
ddy-duddy".
Are you high? There are hundreds of thousands of DSG equipt cars on the road today around the world! VW uses this transmission in the GTI, CC, Passat, Jetta, some SUV's, and in Audi's without manual transmissions. And they have for several years now. The transmission is rated second to only the PDK by auto experts around the world. As for jerky traffic driving it only takes a couple of days to get a feel for the transmission and adjust your driving habits to eliminate the jerky feeling. You don't drive the DSG the same as a standard auto Trans car. Once you get a feel for the car you learn the throttle inputs needed to allow the car to drive just as smooth as any other. Hell my Accord auto is not silky smooth in traffic by no means. As for a CVT, I'm not interested at this point, it's yet to be seen what will happen with these transmission in 500k cars when they start to hit 100k miles and up. Maybe if I bought a hybrid and was after max gas mileage.

All I was trying to say is the DSG is perfect for the car enthusiast who has to set in stop and go traffic during the week where full automatic is just not practical. The paddles on our cars are fun and add a level of control that ups the fun factor for sure. But in my opinion Honda could really step up the fun factor with a DCT in the civic SI or even give us a Accord coupe sport edition with a DCT and 350hp...drool...
