I noticed this yesterday on the rear quarter panel. Those weren't there several weeks ago when I waxed the car. We don't have a lot of rain here in Chicago recently.

At first I thought those are rust bubbles. Upon further inspection, I don't think so because if I press down my finger, the bubbles can be pushed back. It seems to me that some gas developed inside the paint and caused it to bubble up.

Anyone has similar on there car? What do you think is the cause? The sun?

+1 ^^^ agree

It's rust forming under the paint. That's a very common spot for these cars (and, well, every other Honda that's ever been made) to rot.

It's small enough how that you could probably get it repaired fairly affordably, as there will only be a tiny hole to patch/repair.

Common rust spot.

The salt from the winter does its damage after the winter, not during the winter.

I popped one of the bubbles with a small screw driver. I didn't see any rust there. Gently run the screw driver blade, it revealed silverish bare metal.

I'm going to grind off the bubbles to investigate further.

Rust bubble from beneath the paint finish. Welcome to the club my friend.... annoying
I dealt with rust bubbles before: rust built up beneath the paint and pushing the paint up. Not in this case. When I ground off the paint, there was no rust, empty bubbles.

Anyway, I touched them up and call it a day.
