Dropped off my car this morning. The car was making a weird 'Bobbing / Bubbling' noise around the pulley area. Dealer said they're going to replace the pump and the reservoir b/c the power steering fluid was all black and pump sounded bad. We'll see if it works. Tech was trying to say that the lowered suspension ruined the pump, but luckily I brought in the car for the same problem before it was lowered so there was a paper trace. Keep you posted.

What was the suggested failure mechanism from a lowered suspension?

Huh?

No I think what the Tech was trying to say is that the cars weren't meant to be lowered, therefore anything that went wrong with the car would be because of the lowered height.

I understand that. I was wondering if you pressed him to try & explain how the lowered car affected the power steering pump. If so, the explanation might be good for a laugh. That's all.

I see... No explanation was given to me, only the fact that him just looking at the car, caused him to say that anything wrong would be b/c of the lowered height. I could've been a bad wiper motor...it would've been b/c of the lowered height. You know what I mean, that was his attitude.

God forbid if you had a DriveAccord decal on the car, that would have voided all of your warranty according (pun intended) to this jacka$$ mechanic!

So they had to order the pump. I'll update next week to see if the noise went away.
