I installed half of my HFP suspension today. On my coupe, the stock front wheel gap was higher than the rear wheel gap. So, I installed the HFP kit on the front. It looks awesome...a very noticeable drop. But it basically made the the front gap equal the rear gap.

So I decided to hold off on the rear HFP for now. I like a balanced look. I'm not sure if I want to mess with the rear and have a squatty look. Both tires have about a 1.5" wheel gap now.

Pictures speak a thousand words, so here are some pix.

Good point....my questions are directed towards people with HFP suspensions. Is your rear wheel gap less than your front wheel gap? If so, by how much? Does a coupe with HFP suspension all around look lower in the rear than in the front?

I think with the rear done it makes it look lower overall, but of course I've never seen only the front done and no back. I don't think people would notice the back looking lower than the front really. Plus I think if I paid for 4 shocks/springs I'd want to get my moneys worth lol. Also over time it will drop and settle lower than it is right now.

I think I've said this before, but I just wanna say it again...

I LOVE YOUR WHEELS!!!!!

Trust me on this. The rear gap, after HFP, is slightly less than front. However, overall, you won't have a "squatted" look. It is a balanced look and it will give you a more aggressive stance. Go for it!!!!

Thanks for the input. I figured that both you and DarkShark would chime in.

The front half of the HFP wasn't too tough to install. It'd be tougher without a buddy, though. The rear looks easier.

The ride is a little more firm so far. Not really noticeable unless on a super bumpy roads. The drop is nice but not obnoxious.

Did you get an alignment done after your install?

I like

i got a question.. whats the benefit too the hfp suspension over other springs on the market.. there 700 dollar for a 1 inch drop.. And with 20's it doesn't even look like its dropped. Can you tell me whats better about them?

It's all about what you're after. I paid $540 for my MT HFP, DIY install for the front took about 1.5 hrs. And I have 19" wheels with OEM spec tire size.

Springs are cheap. But they don't have a factory matched strut/shock. So, if you go with a spring only solution, especially with an aggressive drop, you'll probably see a shock/strut failure within 12-18 months.

Coilovers are more expensive (~$1000). They provide configurable drop/dampening. But the minimum drop was too much for my taste, where you'd have to address negative camber issues or uneven tire ware.

HFP is an OEM solution, where springs are matched with the proper strut/shock. Yes, the drop is not as aggressive and is not configurable...but I'm OK with that. I don't want to have to deal with tire rub, bottom out, voided warranty.

To each his/her own.... for me, HFP as a middle of the road OEM solution.

I can't help with your question but damnnn those wheels are sexy .

LOL I'm 2 for 2 on my wheels tonight, even if they are only 19". And how about the 70F weather I had in central Texas today to do the HFP swap? Equally as sexy!

I'm real picky on wheels so I don't like them. But that's besides the point, I actually wouldn't mind the HFP suspension at a decent price. Coilover's are nice since they are adjustable, but since I've only adjusted mine maybe twice, it hasn't served me too often. In my part texas we don't get snow so I don't have to raise and lower mine. I just dropped mine low and it's been there since. The adjustable dampening is very nice though.

I imagine the drop on the HFP is just about right, not sure if there is much settling with it. But as a daily driver, the HFP would be perfect, not too low, not too stiff.

Having a low ride is nice on the eyes and all and makes for great photos, but if it's your daily driver, it's not too practical. I just haven't raised mine up since it's too much work to put my car on jack stands and removing the wheels and adjusting the coil.

Damn I need to buy a work truck ..

How so? whether its the 18" OEM wheels & tires or aftermarket 20" wheels & tires you have to keep the original diameter of the OEM tire. Otherwise your speedo will be off. So the only thing that does change is the wheel gap when its lowered. Actual wheel size should have no factor on whether it looks lowered or not.

I waited couple of weeks of driving then got my alignment done. Everything was pretty much in spec (other than rear camber of course) and needed very little adjustment.

+1

Actually, with my 20's and 245 35 20 tires, I have slightly less wheel gap than somone with OEM 18's since my wheels are slightly bigger.

Its not the wheel size that's important as much as the tire size, if you want your speedo accurate than u need to have it the same size as your OEM tire diameter was.

One thing most people don't know is not all tires of the same size specs, are actually the same size. An example is when I was looking for 245/35/20 tires we found they would vary in size as much as 3/4 of an inch in depending on the brand etc. So I tried to find the ones that were closest to the OEM tire size.

I have a 2006 accord and thinking about just putting in the hfp front springs (just the springs). I live in an all season state, so i don't want to drop too low at all. Has anyone tried this on oem shocks, with hfp springs, front only? I don't think the drop is so much that i'm gonna ruin my oems or need camber adjustments... thoughts?

My HFP suspension caused me no issues through a colorado winter but you are recommeneded to have a camber kit for the 8th gen HFP suspension kit to ensure your tires don't wear unevenly. I can't comment on only putting on the front springs, not sure why you would when I was able to get the whole kit for 540shipped, springs and struts included. Also the experiences you'll find in this thread are pertaining to 8th gen Accords, you might get better info posting in the 7th gen section...

540 shipped?!? where?
