It doesn't seem like the fan speed control does anything to the air flow from the rear vent ducts. Whether its on the lowest or the highest speed setting the air flow stays the same. And there is no seperate control for the rear either.
Is this how its supposed to work ? or could this be a defect ? The manual doesn't say anything about rear vents anywhere.

You can either have the rear vents open or closed. Very simple.

The rear HVAC is controlled by the front. It varies with the fan. There are also vents under the seat for the rear passengers toes when the heat is on.

air flow can be controlled by the "open/close" dial. Doesn't have to just be open or closed, but can be at spots in the middle too. Max airflow is dictated by the main unit and it can be adjusted downward from there using the dial. I doubt they blow any air at all when the heat is on since that is directed through the plumes that run under the front seats.
