They call it a Customer Satisfaction Campaign-Rear Brakes
-deals with noise and premature brake wear
-will replace free of cost(pads and pads and calipers(if necessary)
-2008-2009
-includes a brake pad reimbursement form ( if you replaced out of your pocket)
-good for 3 yrs from date of purchase

You got this all in the mail?

Did you go to the dealer to replace your rear brakes? Maybe they're sending it to you because you have a record on their system?:dunno:

It may only apply to canadian cars.
Honda Canada TSB:

"To: All Honda dealers

Attention: Dealer Principal / Service Manager / Technician

Subject: 2008-09 Accord Rear Brakes – Customer Satisfaction Campaign

Honda Canada is launching a Customer Satisfaction Campaign to address the possibility that certain driving habits or conditions in Canada may cause premature rear brake pad wear on the 2008-09 Accord. The campaign involves one of two possible repairs:

(i) replacement of the rear brake pads, swapping of the caliper guide pins and centering of the caliper pistons, OR

(ii) replacement of the rear calipers and pads with a new kit

The procedure for installing the updated parts is outlined in Service Bulletin VI-2-10, published on January 15.

It's a start..but if the quoted info is correct they're still trying to place it on the consumer (driving habits).
I noticed that too. But then I read:

(i) replacement of the rear brake pads, swapping of the caliper guide pins and centering of the caliper pistons, OR

(ii) replacement of the rear calipers and pads with a new kit

Which, to me, is proof that there really is either a design flaw or a manufacturing issue with the caliper and/or slide pins. In other words, the premature wear problem is real and always has been.
