Thanks Guys. (will get back later, I'm out) :)

anyhoot, google styx rear shade... it should show up.. I got it from amazon

Looks good. Now you need something for the rear side windows.

You also need some matching front seats. Maybe something like

Not an option for everyone as states dictate varying tint laws.
Is there any state that prohibits rear tint?? I know many SUVs come from the factory w/ rear tint, so what about that?

As for the sunshade, I loved having one in my '09 Genesis, but after a while the little rubber rollers left marks in my tint from constantly motoring up and down. Still, it is a nice feature to have, especially in the Summer - even with rear tint the back of your head can get damn hot in the back seat, but the sunshade fixes that.

The amusing part of the title, is it's actually just like the exports - US built Accords from Ohio are exported to Asia, the Middle East, and Russia, with a power rear sunshade, and manual rear side window shades, as well.

lol. you got me man. :naughty: I didn't realize its all made in OHIO (on why does car manufacturer limits some of the stuff to some regions is beyond me). how do I edit the title?

I actually wants the whole car tinted but here in Cleveland it's IIRC 35% front and anything (dark/er) in the back which looks silly. This of course considering that we owned a minivan and an SUV that has the same tint.. BUT I guess I don't like that % of tints in car-- I want it uniform.

Nice thing about the STYX shade is it's easy to install & NO SUCTION CUPS! :lmao:

It's 50% in the front and anything goes in the back.

I'm actually fairly certain that every state allows at least some tinting on the back window (and most of them only require 40% or less). If they didn't allow tint on rear windows limo companies would never purchase their cars in those states, which no state would do.

Thanks for clarifying hotlead!

50% front & dark(er) in the back is even uglier IMO :dunno:. did you go by that or you did all around? see when I had the SUV's, van-- it was OK to have a limo like tint since all of them on the road looks the same. Now if I do the varying tint on my Accord I'm the only one who has it..

sorry for the late reply.. :)

*I got it from AMAZON, I checked their website and only AMZN is the authorized re-seller.. $69.99 sale http://www.amazon.com/Shade-Styx-ER...hade/dp/B008VM0TLO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1368062634&sr=8-1&keywords=styx+shade

*not OEM.. (motorized you mean? but it do retract.. check videos on youtube)

*install is very easy. NO SUCTION CUP! nylon thread on the bottom part. you have to use the anchor, you'll put the provided clip on the headliner. I put black colored 3M double sided tape that we use for picture frames on the bottom part for extra hold. :)

My silly question for the day.

Do you have to pull this down to drive at night?

Frankly, my back seat is just for show and it's only once in a blue moon that anyone sits back there, so I would only be interested in something that would keep the car cooler, but if I had to pull it down at night, I probably wouldn't care too much for it.

Seventy bucks is pretty steep, also, but not prohibitive.

I just looked at Sears and they're $107 there.
:jawdrop:

Sorry, I should have clarified. I did not mean that rear tint was not allowed. I meant in response to the "dark tint" suggestion. To me dark meaning less than 35% which is prohibited in many states.

shots taken at rearview mirror while driving. everything's still visible-- no issues at night

from these pictures, it seems like the shades are in the way of the curtain air bag (if it ever deployed). If you have no one back there in the rear, then it should not be a concern.

However, I think $60 is a little much. I could have had almost the same shade for about $12. Just google part# 3C0064360. This is actually for VW Passad. I believe you can order this VW shade online, or locally at your VW dealership. I did not use it because of the concern mentioned above.
