WOW I just wrestled that damn headliner out of my 2014 sedan. There has to be an easier way of getting it out of the vehicle without having to fold the edges too much.
Has anyone done this yet? any tips or pointers for putting it back in would be appreciated.

Anyways I will be sure to post pics when I'm done

You may be the first. Please enlighten us, why does one need to remove a headliner in a 2014 car?

OOOH damn sorry. I forgot the rhyme behind the reason.

I took it out to reupholster it. I really despise the material that honda uses on the headliner. Im putting the same color gray back up but in ultra-suede.

Isn't she a girl?
Actually, I think she's a woman.

Are you going to recover the sun visors? I guess that's the easy part.

OK so im probing around on these sun visors. they are actually huge clam shells that pinch the fabric into its seems.

the sun visors are a no go. Honda used some plastics glue that melts the to clam shells together. the only way to upholster them is to put a sleeve around them or do some seriously tedious work prying the thing up and forcing fabric in little by little

well i walked out to the car. but i realized that pics with the headliner down wont help too much.

Basically theres only a few steps.

To remove the headliner

1.remove all of the "OH-SHIT-BARS" or OSB handles
- to do this there are plastic covers when you pull the handle down.
- Take 2 pry tools one on either side of the plastic cover and pull the tab out
- now with the 2 plastic covers removed you will see metallic tabs. These
are unlike any other model where there are screws. just take pliers and
squeeze the tabs together to remove the OSB
2. Remove the sun visors.
-There are no screws again
- Take a small flat tipped screwdriver and face the rear of the vehicle
and you will see an opening the screwdriver is to press in and rotate
the locking clip
3. Remove the upper light/console
- there are 2 screws in the sunglasses tray and 2 under the light
fixtures
4. Remove the A-pillar, B-pillar and C-pillar garnishes/covers
-the pull right off but be careful not to break the green clips they are
2.20 a piece from honda
5. Remove the rear dome light and 2 rear plastic pins*sedan*
- There are 2 screws under the rear dome light lens
- The 2 gray pins can be removed with a trim tool
6. Peel the weather strip from the top of all 4 doors
7. Starting at the moon roof
- Grab the head liner closest to the windshield and pull there are 4
green clips to pull loose
- The sides of the moonroof are velcro
- The rear of the moonroof is a magnet
8. The headliner should be prepped to pull down.

****harness***
- On the A-pillar remove the harness going to the headliner
- if equipped with FCW System unplug both the FCW module and
rearview mirror
9. Remove the headliner from the front right door

If you decide to drive the car and have FCW System, without the headliner while youre reupholstering it. you need to reinstall the harness so that the Vehicle will operate correctly. Otherwise all instrument gauges, A/C, etc will not work because the FCW SYSTEM ERROR will halt their operations

I believe pilotbear removed the rear window to slide the headliner in and out, I think she removed it to do other things as well though.

Yes she did. Unfortunately, you have to bend it as much as possible to remove and reinstall. Taking the seats out also helps a lot. We have creased several new ones during body shop repairs at the shop which required a reorder. Sucks but there is no easy way.
