I've been really itching to replace my side-view mirrors on my 2014 Honda Accord EX-L V6, but can't find any videos on it.

I read on another thread to use a heat gun and pull at the mirror as thats how it was done on the 8th gen accord, but with it being a new car and all, I don't trust advice like that unless I see it in video.

Does anyone have clear instructions with manufature pictures or can make a quick video on removing the 2013/2014 side-view mirrors (both Left/Right EX mirrors)?

Not sure I understand wht you're trying to do. Replace the mirror caps? Surely you don't mean the whole mirror assemblies??

If you are competing for an award for one of the most bizarre posts of the month, you have a really good chance of winning, IMO.

:blush:Yeah those side-view mirrors are driving me nuts too! I am almost too embarrassed to bring my Accord out of the garage!

Please someone must know how to do it before I trade this car in for a Hyundai. And those are some smoking side-view mirrors.

There's been some really retarded posts lately, but I vote this the best I've seen tonight.

Remove glass by lightly tapping with small hammer. Then devalue car as you see fit. Let me guess - chrome?

Maybe he's trying to install power folding mirrors.

My only complaint is the drivers side mirror on my 2014 touring. The small portion to the outside gives a slightly different view that's (to me) distracting. I'd love to see a dealer option to convert it to a one-piece mirror. Other than that the mirrors, housings, and controls are fine.

There are many reasons as to why someone would want to remove their side-view mirrors, I don't see how it's so bizarre.

1. Replace scratched side-view mirrors.
2. Install power folding side-view mirrors.
3. Replace damaged outer Caps.
4. Replace side-view mirror with awkward expanded view.
5. Any mod that involves any part of the side-view mirror assembly in general.

If I'm not mistaken, you kind of have to remove the side-view glass if you want to do anything with the side-view mirrors period ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I got a good laugh out of the ignorant replies above, thank you :)

After a bit of an adjustment period stopped noticing/being distracted by it and have decided I like it.

oh, well, you don't generally replace the mirror by removing the glass. I've only done it on a much older gen accord. Tapped the mirror on the garage side wall entering late one night and said to myself 'remember to swing the wheel wide in the morning when backing out'. Of course, completely forgot in the morning and backed out straight and quick. Ripped that passenger side mirror right up. (The older gen mirrors only folded down on the car, not forward, so it broke right away.)

I just went to honda parts, bought a mirror assembly, popped the inside trim off, and as I recall it was 3 bolts to remove and swap the mirror assembly. No touching the glass at all.

You are right, but you didn't state why you want to replace the mirror, so people here were perplexed. Actually, you still haven't; so, which one of #1-5 is it? All of us are curious. :)

Put my first 600 miles on the Accord, but I still find that area unnecessary and distracting. Not nearly as bad as some of the other designs I've seen. I really hate the Ford driver's side mirrors.

Give it bit more time. Sometime within the first year and 5K miles my brain adapted. Did a 3300 mile road trip in July, which meant driving in "foreign" traffic, and noticed it not at all.

A snow plow broke the glass of my driver's mirror on my old car. I couldn't just buy new glass, had to buy the whole assembly which was stupid expensive.

SO I bought a mirror, made a template of my side mirror, and cut a new part myself. Glued it in with epoxy and it worked fine for 8 years.

You could do that if you have the skills.
