Hello everyone,

I’m thinking about replacing my 4 speakers on my 2016 Honda Accord EX. I been looking at buying the JBL GTO629 6.5inch speakers to replace the stock ones. I am wondering if the vehicle will support these higher watt speaker without running any extra wiring. Also, if anyone can correct me on the type of speakers to get or different sizing please let me know. I am aware that a adapter might be needed but just wanted to make sure it was more of an easy swap rather than installing more wiring like when installing a amp or subwoofer. Any other tips are appreciated!
Thank you!

I’d go on Crutchfield.com & enter your vehicle info to confirm speakers which should fit. I was there today & saw a nice component system for the front which would upgrade both the speakers & the tweeters for as little as $60. Typically, factory speakers are pretty low quality so any aftermarket upgrade should be able to handle the oem stereo just fine.

I'm no expert and my question is, if most Honda HUs are factory EQ'ed midrange, do different speakers really help?

^+1 on contacting Crutchfield.
You should have no issues with anything Crutchfield helps you out with....and they also supply you with the the correct speaker harnesses that plug right into your factory harnesses.
They can also tell you whether certain speakers will need a mounting bracket or not.
