I'm liking those led strips. I've seen a lot of different cars try to copy them and the mercedes design and it never looks good. Those looks pretty good. Do they actually throw off any light on the ground or mainly just for looks?

I did it for show but the output is really spectacular. Not so much the ground output (I wouldn't drive far at night with them, though you could definitely see enough to manuver around and I'm sure if they were aimed toward the ground a little more it be more possible) but as you get farther away it looks really really bright. I tested using a potentiometer as a dimmer, which works nicely, though I haven't hooked it up yet. I don't want to blind anyone at night. They're small but really powerful. Ill see if I can get a pic of that tonight if it stops raining

The retro looks hot. But on the other hand, I dunno about NJ cops but u might get some heat with those red angel eye rings. If you go red on the turn signals, you might as well be asking for it...

Yeah.. I was thinking the same thing. I'm not worried about being around town here because most of the officers leave me alone cuz I'm always working. I work where they all eat so I haven't been ticketed since I got this job. My worry was just trips to places other than here lol. Maybe ill just keep the red led turn signal bulbs with me and switch between them and the others depending on where I'm going. Only takes like 2 minutes to swap them. Haven't decided

took a while, but here are some pics, all taken same exact way. (the dark one is lights off; just to compare-- the second is fog strips/parking lights, the other is obviously headlights).. the last is fogs and parking again.. showing off the door handle/mirror led lol.

Looks good man, I like it. I have a somewhat similar idea, although since I want to retain the use of my fog lights, I was thinking something along the lines of this:

Note: Old car pic, dirty and lame! Red line = LED's. Would have them hooked up to their own switch, so I can turn them on/off whenever. Also I would try to 'hide' them in the crack, or have them drilled and embedded into the fog light "grill".

Mine comes in two parts. I'm sure your fogs would be the same. If you went with drilling in that particular area, you'd have to find another way to mount the covers. Shouldn't be hard. I'm putting mine on a switch too. Eventually. I also hope to get an oem fog switch and hook that up to my strips. That would probably look cool. Only way to know is to do it hah. I was worried about when I did this because it looked nice on 'kingmoocows' car but my covers are a little different so I wasn't sure. And mine are angled. A lot. So I had to drill at an angle that I thought would point straight in front of the car. I was off a bit, but the effect is really nice. I actually wound up liking it being off a bit.

Mh1 projector with e46 shroud. Got them from greg. I like the red a lot more than I thought I would, and I never want to drive without projectors again lol (if I haven't already said that). My favorite pic of the red so far is on my flickr or facebook somewhere. Ill see if I can get it when I get home tonight

for the fog strep; yeah. parallel. Cut part of one leg off each led and soldered a resistor to the cut leg (so it wasnt so huge), then twisted all the + and all the - legs together; then soldered each intersection. Soldered two wires at the end, and filled it with silicon.

cool
just noticed but what/how do you have leds under the mirror and door handle
very cool
Thanks; I like how it came out. I wasn't sure at first. It was something I wanted to try for a while than one day I just went for it. Driver's side door was the biggest bitch in the world haha. Since I wanted to keep everything factory looking, I chose to run my wires along side of all the factory door wires which meant running them through that rubber protective tube between the door. Which wouldve been fine if it wasn't blocked by this annoying harness/connector thing. The LEDs are just some of many 5mm leds that I have laying around. If you look under the mirror theres a hole that fits the 5mm LED so perfectly you think that they made it with this in mind. actually now thinking about it i probably shouldve taken a better pic of the mirror. I guess i got so caught up in getting pics of the door handle cuz that was my main goal. The mirror was like 'eh since im here already why not'. I ran those wires up the spindle of the mirror with the other wires for the motor.

Heres my first post about it, scroll down and youll see a buncha pics describing the whole process (at this time i did one side to see how it looked and hadnt done the mirror yet):

Than heres another post after I did the mirror showing the driver side door complications:

Thanks! They're LEDs behind the e46 shroud, he'll remember, or you could just send a link here to him. They're up on their website as well I believe.

It's called telling a story and being descriptive. It's easier to see what's going on that way when reading it. Where did I ever say it was funny? If it was a joke I wouldn't have been outside guarding my car. He went into a rant and started punching parked cars.
