I got a bunch of engine lights so I ran the code and got P0340. I popped the hood to look at the camshaft sensor and found out there’s been a rodent living in my car. There are droppings everywhere around the engine cover. I vacuumed and sprayed pin sol.

The wires from the spark plug to the camshaft sensor is all gone. I don’t know what part I need to replace or whether I can even do it myself. So far that’s all I can see. I also got a high beam light alarm too, not sure if it’s related.

If you're handy you can splice some wire back in. If not you can maybe have a shop do it. The dealership will likely want to replace the entire harness.

Is that another chewed wire on the harness on the right or a piece of debris?

Thanks for the reply. I believe only the wire from the hardness to the camshaft sensor is chewed up.

I’m sorry this happened to you. I’d get the wires replaced asap and wrap them with wire wrap suggested above. I’d probably do a full detail and use chemicals to fully clean the engine bay too.
