My '94 EX beater came with the back half of one roof rack rail broken off completely. It looks pretty crummy that way.

Is a special tool needed to unscrew the thing from the roof? There are some odd circular fittings that don't look like hex screws up there.

Could those odd circular fittings be covers for the screwheads? See if you can pry them out with a pocket size flat head screwdriver.

Yes, that worked. Torx screws with broad washer like caps were hard to get off, but some break-free and a torch helped. The broken roof rack is off!

Um....Now what do I cover those long open slots in the roof with?

Answer: two long plastic strips from the roof of a 91 wagon that I found at the Pick 'n Pull. An almost perfect fit. Install using clear RTV as an adhesive?
