I need to get a new set of rotors for my car, but I have no idea if my rears are rotors or drums. What is it for the 2007 SE sedan?

If ya can't tell by looking at them, maybe you shouldn't be DIY'in a brake job.
Oh I won't be doing it myself, I just want to buy the parts, then have them installed. But just so i know which are the correct to get, i'm glad I asked. Thanks

Old:

1. Brembo Blanks
2. Hawk HPS
3. Much improved over stock.
4. Just under 30K miles.
5. No. While the stopping power was good, the dust and noise was HORRIBLE. Also, the rotors were shot after 30K miles, the pads ate them quickly.

Current:

1. Autozone Duralast Gold rotors front and rear.
2. Duralast Gold CMAX Ceramic pads front and rear.
3. Great stopping power, comparable to the HPS.
4. About 5K so far...
5. No, and only because I won't have to! Lifetime warranty! I LOVE this combination. Good stopping power, QUIET, and NO DUST. The brakes are VERY smooth. It was also very cheap. Only $250 for all 4 wheels, pads and rotors.
An update to my original post:

Come January of this year, I could tell the rotors were being to warp again. Called Autozone, bought replacements, changed the old ones out and took them back and got my money back. Nothing like free pads and rotors! Didn't give me any hassle or grief. Now I have a new 2 year warranty on the new rotors and a lifetime on the new pads.

According to college hill Honda online parts your car has the smaller rotor but I would check with your dealer.

I am currently reading up on this brake rotor idea and by the looks of it only the coupe 6-6 had the 11.8" front rotor from 03-07 and the V6AT had a diff. caliper part# also. The rear rotor seems to be the same 10.2" across the board during this time.

Now, interestingly enough, 08-12 coupe/sedan V6/I4 all have the same part # front caliper and rotor as the 03-07 coupe 6-6.

However there was an increase in rear rotor to 11.1" in 08-10 from the 10.2" in 03-07 but the e-brake looks different? I guess one MAY be able to use the newer bracket with the 03-07 rear caliper and use the 11.1" rear rotor but I have not confirmed this?

There is no way you can use the "bracket" from the 8th gen as an direct bolt-on without an adapter that bolts to the hub first. This is how aftermarket big brake kit bolts onto the stock hub.

I have a 2007 Sedan 6-6. Does anyone know if this car uses the bigger rotors like the 6-6 Coupe? I just want to verify either way.
No, but you can always upgrade to larger rotor, pads, & calipers, since it's a direct bolt on.

Hi All,

I posted this on the Acura forums but thought I would share. The shuttering on the highway's on my 07 TSX has got to me. I went with Brembo blanks as well as Hawk Performance ceramic. I went with these because the HPS from some reviews said they were noisy. When I backed out of my driveway I was saying to myself WTH did I just put on. The pads took forever to stop the car. After running through the break-in they do seem better but I'm still concerned about stopping power in emergency situations. I don't feel like they are as good as the OEMs at least for now.

To anyone that has replaced their with Hawks and new rotors, did you have similar issues as what I have when you replaced yours? Did it get better after the rotors broke in a little? I'm just concerned if I should just go back to my original setup.

Does anyone know the going price on resurfacing the rotors and if it's even worth it instead of just replacing them?

Oh one additional thing I noticed on my old pads. The inner pad had a slight bump in the middle going out 1" from the middle. This was on both inner pads. Does anyone know what sign this could be?

That's the problem with ceramic pads. The only thing ceramic has going for it is longer life and low dust. But we are talking about brakes here. I don't really give a damn whether the pads dust or not, I need to stop. You are wearing away material, there will be dust regardless.

I have Hawk HPS with Centric rotors. After they broke in, they are good at all speed even the first braking attempt in the morning. Some complain that the rotors are eaten up sooner, but rotors are so cheap these days that it doesn't matter. Don't bother resurfacing either. The labor that costs to do that sometimes cost even more than new rotors. The only right way to resurface rotors is to cut them while on the car with a special machine. If you take them off to get them cut on a lathe, they might not be true to the hub and will still be warped.

But aren't the OEM pads ceramic as well? I'm comparing two brands of the same type and I am noticing a difference between the two.

OEM is organic. You can tell by the material when you look at them side by side. The OEM pads have more dust than ceramic that's about. I didn't notice a difference in braking capability until I went to Hawk HPS. Tons of dust but who cares.

A ton of information on this - looking for the most current.

I need to replace the front pads and rotors on a 2006 V6 sedan. What options are best for longevity and to fight warping? Street use - no racing. I read about upgrading to the coupes brakes. Also, aftermarket. What’s been tried and is true?

Sure appreciate the input and guidance!

? I'm trying to understand why my post was merged with a thread from 2013. Surely there are newer/better options than from 7 years ago. Also, the thread speaks to pads - I clearly mentioned I'm looking for pads and rotors?

As long as you don't go dirt cheap, anything on the market should be good enough. I have Bosch rotors and oem pads in front, Wagner rotors and pads in the rear. No problem. My last set of rear pads were from Amazon, $6 shipped, except a little dusty, nothing wrong to them either.

Set a budget, buy any name brand rotors, pads, you'll be fine. Warping is more related to a poor brake job than the quality of rotors/pads.
