Does anyone have a pic of how the shift boot collar is susposed to look on the 6sp? I think mine is broke (it moves up and down) and I want to buy a new one if it is indeed broke. But I don't want to waste my money if it is susposed to be like that.

The boot can normally move up and down about 1/2" - 1".

I removed mine yesterday to clean out the grime around the edges. I wondered for a moment if the locking nut should go underneath to secure it, but no. Looks like it was designed to have a little up and down flexibility. Half-inch at the most. It has a little plastic collar around the top.

MINE is the same way since I bought her brand spankin new. It great when you have to clean the boot and you can pull it up a lil just enough to get everything from the bottom

Ya mine has more than a 1/2 to 1 inch of play, I can pull it all the way down.

the black collar on mine only moves up as far as the locking nut.
