Unless you really need a burst of power or straightening out some esses for fun, going to sport just burns more fuel especially on the freeway where cruising is an easy 1,000 RPM higher and you really gain nothing. If you need more responsiveness, just flick the wrist to sport and then back to drive when that powere is not needed. For me 99% of the time I am in D and not S, which may explain why I get 42-44 MG in the freeway.
