I've read the manual's details on this a few times, but I can't quite get the details. Is this light supposed to light up if nothing (no cargo or passengers) are in the passenger's seat? I know it's supposed to light up if it detects light cargo or a passenger like a child seat that is too light so that the airbag will not deploy, but mine is lighting up with nothing on or nobody in the seat.

The light should be on when nothing (or something too light) is in the seat. It's a waste of an airbag if you get in an accident and no one is in the seat.

If there’s something too light on the seat, then the light turns on indicating air bag is off.

At least that’s how the 9th gen is.

I just noticed this on mine as well... did not notice it the entire week until tonight. Feel like I would have noticed it before if it was on the whole time when there was no passenger.

Mine's on when the seat's empty. It just means the airbag is not armed.
