Should there be a hole in the air intake hose at this spot?
I just replaced my intake hose and it came with this hole plugged.

there should be a hole there, but cheap replacement hoses typically don't have it. just drill the hole out.

That seems common for aftermarket air flow tubes. I found the same for my V6. I used a screw driver to poke through the block, then carefully cut it away. Frankly, these aftermarket tubes are not bad at all, probably sturdier than OEM, which is more plastic than rubber.
