this should be a nice thread that goes long & long. post what you did to your car today whether it was good or bad!

i removed both door panels. my passenger door for the past 2 days due to the rain has somehow got water on my speaker grill and also on the passenger floor carpet. i sealed up the rest of the door and sealed up the grommets even more w/ silicone on both door skins and underneath the carpet and lets hope it doesnt leak anymore.

i got a few things to do on sunday on my day off!

it's that sand/gold color that literally every accord/corolla/camry driven by an old person was painted in the late 90s/early 00s, it sucks and i hate it
at least it hides scratches better then black does... coming from a nighthawk black owner 🙃

Did a quick scuff and shoot on my rear calipers. Cleaned the rust off with a drill powered wire wheel, blow the dust off, clean with brake clean, mask off the unwanted parts (rubber stuff), re-lube the brakes and bam. Quick after work project that took an hour and change. I used VHT Cast aluminum caliper paint. Sprayed really good and covered really well. Looks really close to OEM caliper colours.

Also, please dont judge the rest of the undercarriage. Its off the road for the summer to get some suspension, body work and rust repairs. This project just scratched the itch for wanting to get a project done.

Ahhh I was thinking something a couple shades darker like from the 80s or something. Still looks sweet! All you need now is that headliner pattern in spots like wood grain paneling and I’d make an offer

you may note from the condition of the bumper corner that it doesn’t hide scratches well at all!

signal splash
I have no idea what this is but am fairly confident that it makes you a visionary of our times.

your styling is right up my ally.

Jacked car to try and find intermitted rubbing/grinding sound from left side of the car.
Either the front plastic undercover (lower engine splash shield) is rubbing on the tire when I accelerate or my wheel bearing is about to take a shit on me.
I'm hoping its the plastic. I will try to remove the plastic piece tomorrow to see if the sound goes away.

Also looked at quotes to get my windows tinted.

the old signal auto shop cars had a distinctive livery/stripe commonly called the “signal splash”:

is there affiliation there or just admiration?
nah, no affiliation, just love the idea of that stripe in wood paneling/vinyl

98-01 was like peak car style for me, especially with drift cars, so it's always fun to bring back elements of that era if i can

:D That was the color of my 3rd gen. Gold was quite popular in that era, even among young people. The best color for those who don't want to wash their cars.

inspected the underside of my car to make sure I can add a tow hitch. I want to get back into mountain biking and need a way to attach a bike rack.

I am digging your pattern a lot. Looks sharp against the tan.

the one good part about the fabric falling off of the headliner is that it gives you the opportunity to get real weird with it

How did you get it out of the interior? Did you deform it? Removed seat (s), etc...?
It’s pretty easy to pull, I removed the upper part of all the door seals, removed all of the oh shit handles, removed the visors and clips, then the dome lights. I started towards the front and lowered it down without pulling pillars anywhere. Then when it was down a little I removed all of the tape for the wires, then made a reverse taco out of the headliner by grabbing the dome light and pulling it out of the center pillars. Once those were out I yanked it forward to remove the rest of it. Proceeded with the reverse taco and got it out from the car through the passenger rear door.
I had a lot of fun last night…. I did a complete suspension refresh on my old girl with 238k. I replaced front bearings, rear bearings, sway bar end links, inner and outer steering knuckles, upper control arms and ball joints, and lower ball joints, Lower Control Arms, abs sensors, S/D Rotors, carbon fiber ceramic pads, etc.
I drove it for a couple of days and was in love with the way it was handling and drove like a dream.
Fast forward to yesterday, I was following a semi too close and was about to pass and hit a massive pothole at 70mph. My coil overs hit the bump stops and then the steering felt loose and crappy. I got it back home and inspected all of my work and found that I hit the pothole so hard it actually tried to rip the passenger side ball joint out of the knuckle and the new nut sheered the threads of the knuckle. Oreilys replacement control arms are pretty crappy. I have the Honda girl parked until I find some OEM UCAs.

3geez? lol. Had a sedan and hatch back then. I miss the simplicity of cars, cigarette lighter layout, and pop-up lights, etc.

Found my master window switch that works. Replaced the master window switch, reprogrammed keys and installed both front and rear dash cams. No major work planned, now back to maintenance mode for hopefully next 3 years.
