Help, I have a completely stock 2012 honda accord coupe 4cyl.
I've noticed when driving and playing a song with bass or any song on 40 the speakers in the front fade down to what seems like 5 and the back speakers kick in..

I'm going insane not knowing what this can be.

I've changed balance and the speakers in the front work.. It's only when the song hits bass or a certain volume does it switch out... Does anyone have a clue whats going on!?

It's clipping. The speakers are trying to use more power than the amp can provide so it powers what it can handle and the rest gets left out, which in your case is the front speakers. You will want to look at getting a separate amp for either all the speakers or just the sub to take some of the load off your current stereo. I would look at getting a separate amp for just the speakers for cost reasons, a subwoofer amp is far more expensive.

I agree the amp is probably clipping at that power setting, but that's not what clipping is. The speakers are not trying to use more power, they just take whatever the amp gives them. Clipping occurs when the amp is asked to deliver more power than it is capable of. Volume turned up to 40 is probably going to result in some clipping.

Some solutions are:

1. don't turn it up that loud
2. install higher capacity amps
3. more efficient speakers that sound louder at a given volume level
