Hey guys, I'm hoping you can give me some advice.

My dad and I just swapped the motor in a 1998 Honda Accord LX. It's the 2.3L Vtec. After getting everything back together, we found that the speedometer would go up when we revved the engine past 2200 rpms. Also, the temperature gauge won't register, even after we leave the engine idling for awhile. I've done some searching on the internet for possible solutions, and people suggest that it could be a bad ground. We cleaned all the grounds we could find, and there's continuity between the battery terminals and the exhaust manifold, so I don't know what else to try. Another thing I should maybe mention is that, when we rev the engine to just around 2200 rpms, we hear a relay or something in the transmission clicking on and off.

If anyone has any ideas, or could give us some pointers, I'd be grateful. Thanks in advance.
