I've been lurking on these threads for a while now since I am in the market for a new vehicle. Originally the Accord Coupe EX caught my eye. I then shopped around and did the sunday dealership scope out. Looking through the picture thread the sedan grew more and more on me (despite still having that conservative look).

I feel like now I am more than ready to pull the trigger on a sedan now. The best price point would be the sport and with its name, is sporty.

The things that bother me are not having the smart entry, no moon roof, no mirror turn signals, and no xm satellite radio. I know I can jump up to an ex and gain a few of those features but i can save over 2 grand and still get a nice ride.

So sport owners, do you miss or even want those extra features that ex models have? I know I can do without them over time, and again, the sport looks awesome.

Moonroof is all i miss :/ 6MT sport

XM ****s. Pandora is way better if you have an unlimited data plan with your phone. Sport has a power seat. I don't think the EX has a power seat. I've had sunroofs in my past 4 cars and never opened them. I wish I had push button start :/

The things I wish the Sport would have is really the sunroof. I can careless for for the remote starter (even tho it's pretty cool still), the XM, mirror turn signals. Who really need mirror turn signals?

The Sport over the EX was a easy choice for me. The package the sport offers with fogs, 18" wheels, trunk lip and dual exhaust basically won me over. Now with my current accident I'd debating if I should try a coupe this time, or just choose a whole new car.

I can't say I miss them because I've never had them since my first car was a 2001 Honda CRV but the moon roof I wish I had but that's really it. The keyless remote is nice but I'll live so I say the Sport is worth it

Ex has a power drivers seat.

It also has rear AC Vents, Heated Mirrors (LX may have that), front tweeters, and lane watch.

Buy the EX.

I won't knock the Sport, but there really isn't enough different about the Sport to make it worth not getting the amenities of the EX.

And get a manual transmission, even if you have to wait for it.

There isn't much sporty about a car that shifts itself, even if it does have (phony) paddle shifters.

A big fat phony!

I have thought long and hard whether or not I should have gone with the EX. The only time I miss any of the features that come with the EX is when I read about them here. But the Sport has "better" interior fabric than the EX and nicer wheels and "sporty" things like a dual exhaust, some suspension upgrades and 4 HPs added by the hampster wheel Honda added in there somewhere. The sport is just a dang good bargain. I still can't believe Honda gives you so much car for only 22k (my OTD price).

I wholeheartedly agree, but I have to say I haven't seen those features in person. I suspect those owners who use these features daily would disagree.. Either way, you can't lose!

To me the moon-roof alone is worth the difference in price.

I honestly mostly use it to vent the car and on cool mornings and nights, I'll open it for the fresh air, but for the most part it's a chimney for a blast of hot air that you can feel.

I think the tweeter is a real bonus vs. not having one. I just can't image a full range speaker at floor level doing anything. This of course won't affect those who'll add tweeters or otherwise modify their stereos.

Such is not out of the question for me, but there will have to be something more to modify than just adding a 5000 watt amp and a 30" woofer.

Smart Entry & Push Button Start are far more desirable than you can even guess until you have it. Personally, I hadn't. After nearly 50 years of driving and more locked doors with the keys in the ignition or dropped inside the car than I'd like to admit, it's a nice little luxury.

I have only one complaint and that's the stereo issue of not being able to switch to an accessory mode immediately after killing the engine. That's not a major problem, however.

I don't think that the lane-view camera is particularly special, although I'll turn it on when I'm parallel parking from time to time, which is very rare.

Of course, I could live without those things, as I've never had any of those things on any car, except for the keyless entry on my last two Accords.

I do recognize that the Sport is a nice car for the money. It's just that the things the EX has are more important to me than dual exhaust and four extra horsepower, the 18" wheels, and the spoiler.

Of course, aftermarket wheels, cat-back, dual exhaust systems, producing an extra 13 horsepower and 16 lbs. x ft. of torque, are now available in the aftermarket and the spoiler is OEM and available from College Hills and can be installed by the DIYers.

I'd want all the features...to put it in perspective though we just bought a 4 door wrangler base model. Only option was auto tranny. This setup comes WITHOUT power door locks, windows or mirrors. To boot there is NO key fob, just a key. It's pretty archaic i guess, but my kids think it's awesome i don't need to start the car for them to roll the windows down on a hot day! So with car #1 having cloth seats and power nothing car 2 will be a loaded EX-L V6 :)

Could care less about the moonroof. I liked the stitched interior, 18 wheels, dual exhaust, and carbon interior wrap. I think the ex and sport(both 6mt)are both great models, but I also wanted to stick with a keyed ignition versus the push button start.

Engine On to Accessory mode hold gear lock then push power button to turn off engine into accessory mode.
Or leave car in gear and push the power button.
Not sure if it works for manual.

This is my first Accord Sport and I'm ecstatic with this car. I call it a poor mans Acura. I wish it had a sun roof because I had one in my previous Camry and used it a lot. I wish it also had heated outside mirrors as a safety option. I added the remote start, auto-dimming mirror, body side molding which saved my passenger door two days later when a guy parked next to me in a Volvo and wacked my door opening his driver's door. He paid for the repair of replacing the new side molding and I got three spare door moldings since they only come in full sets when ordered. I also tinted my windows with 18% and it really makes the car pop! Other then that the other options are nice but not worth the difference since I can turn a key, look in my passenger side mirror. Pandora is awesome better then XM radio since it is free. Some extra speakers would be nice since my Camry had 8 speakers - 2-tweeters,6 speakers and 200 watts compared to 160 watts for 4 speakers in the Accord. I really like this car for the money. You can't go wrong with this car.

As a Honda sales associate I have the advantage of being in pretty much every model on a weekly basis. At 46 yoa, looking for my middle aged sports car, I was considering the EXLV Coupe but in the end the sedan made the most sense for my family and the "Sport" made the most sense to satisfy my need, well for a sports car. This is first car that puts a smile on my face every time I get in it since a 91' Camaro. If you can afford more get more but if you can't it will be hard to beat the Sport!

I don't think that will work with a manual.

The clutch preclude the methods you note.

sport should have a smart key system (push button engine start) and a LED Strip Marker lights. that is all i wanted in a sport. couldn't care less about the moon/sun roof and any other features.
