I’ve got a 2005 manual sedan w/2.4. Ever since I bought the car a few months ago, every time I start it, it seems like it slightly struggles then starts. No issues after running.
Now it’s getting cooler out, it is harder to get started. I replaced the battery last week. No change. It just acts like it is turning over slow, like the battery is bad.Could it be the starter itself is crapping out? Any suggestions would be great!

Yes. Review threads on the starter, look for write-up from member @JohnNH.

Do you have 135,000 - 160,000 miles on that starter?

Tons of info. On here! I’ve been searching threads but was not finding the same symptom discussed, so I figured it was easier to ask 🙂.
Any other vehicles I’ve had that starters went either it quit outright or would be hit and miss.. never just always week- like a crap battery..
Yes - 240000 km ( approx 140 k miles)
Thanks!!!

I've had two starters crap out on this car ... the OEM one with 200k kms on it, the OEM replacement one with 30k kms ...

I've had a rebuilt starter in the car for the last 3-ish years (*knock on wood) without any drama.
