So I have a 2010 accord 2.4l (8th gen) and I was replacing my exhaust manifold catalytic converter and 1 out of the 4 bolts that screw to the “engine” stripped and I’m worried that exhaust fumes will leak out. I need to do emissions soon. Any suggestions?
Need more description.
Is it the engine block that stripped?
Is it the thread on the stud that stripped?
Is it the nut for the stud that stripped?
Exhaust fume will leak out. Although you probably won't notice until the exhaust eats a hole through the metal gasket.
Since it's most likely the block that stripped, you can get a helicoil set for M8x1.25. Get one with long helicoil, not one of the short ones since the stud goes quite far into the block.
Yes exactly the engine block that is stripped. I will definitely try the helicoil set today. I’ve had problems with exhaust leaking out and I need to make sure nothings leaking so i can pass emissions.Thank you for you input it’s definitely a good idea.
