I called Eibach they're in the prototype stage, the guy said hopefully they'll release it next month :)
Looks like it's a good time to put some money aside for all the additional toys to be put on our rides when they are available next year!
Check H&Rs website. They already list a part #s for i4, and v6. Not sure when they will be released.

1.2"F, 1.3"R

51846 - v6

Anyone know what the stance will be for the eibach's or the HFPs? Always a fan of the front a little lower than the rear and the H&R look the opposite.
the rear naturally sits higher from the factory, and even with that 0.1" difference in the H&R springs, the rear will most likely still be SLIGHTLY higher than the front (to compensate for rear passengers, trunk loads, etc.)

im crossing my fingers for a set of coilovers. as springs dont quite go low enough for me (want the fenders to JUST barely cover the tread of the tires) so these 1" drops just wont cut it. i need about 2" or 2.5".
it also gives me the choice of custom spring rates to fine-tune the ride so its not very harsh. i expect near-factory ride, plus adjustability. coilovers are pure win.

and by swapping out the entire shock/spring assemblies, the OEM stuff will be like new if/when i ever sell it or give it back at the end of my lease.

when i had my 2012 civic, it took companies the better part of 8 months to actually get product out there for suspension. i would expect a good selection to be available (maybe 6-10 brands?) by this time next year.

patience! dont jump on the first thing that comes out. a rushed product is just that. wait for stuff to get reviewed, take your time.

With you for sure... im a coilover fan myself. Custom spring rates on some ground controls is what I have had on a couple other setups.

Springs are cheap and easy though. I dont mind spending a few hundred to get something going from a good company. Everyone has a different opinon but im a much bigger fan of H&R than Eibach or Tien for straight springs.

For me this is my new family car so looking for a 1.5 or less drop.

Anyone know if we need these have adjustable camber or do we need the typical kits for certain drops?
2
its mcphearson fronts so it will need adjustable top hats much like nissan 240sx, etc...
older hondas had dual A-arm, so they had either shims for the upper A-arms to push the out, or for extreme camber adjustments, the entire upper A-arm was replaced for maximum adjustment.

and as far as coilovers, i mean true threaded body shocks.
ground control is just an adjustable height spring sliding over whatever shocks (oem, aftermarket), that if improperly adjusted (lower than 1.75") will still put the shock in a non-operational area of stroke, no matter what brand they are.

true coilovers (BC, Megan, Skunk2, etc.) have a threaded body, so you actually change the entire ride hieght, not just the spring.

*edit*
pic of "ground control" adjustable springs vs. K-sport coilovers (not the best brand, but they make my point)

ground control

K-Sport coilovers

now you still have spring height adjustability on the coils, that is your pre-load and you generally want to leave that as is.
for ride height you adjust the perch at the bottom, effectively moving the entire assembly down, not just the spring.

Shinchu, good stuff. Thanks for the additional information.

Those are definitely better setups than the GCs. Just overkill IMO for a daily faimly car. I am getting old though :)

right you are sir!

as for true coilovers being overkill? dude. read that quote up there. how about replacing shocks every year? THAT is overkill.
coilovers can last up to 6 years if you take care of them.
and like i said, you can get custom rates if the company is good enough to care. i was going to get rates on my civic only SLIGHTLY stiffer than stock so as not to bottom out yet still be soft enough to drive my 4 y/o twins around. (used to drive them around in a fully drift prepped s14 with 8/6kg springs and full spherical rod end links! ****ed but now everything else is cake lol)

seriously, coilovers are worth EVERY PENNY.
everyone needs to read this afew times - don't be like me and buy springs and then later find out I should have bought coils - cost me 700 or so in labor and wasted $ on springs. Here's the FAQ from the the 8th gen section...

Shinshu, you must have different experiances then me. Lets chat via pm so we don't flood this thread
With 350/450 rates and tracked fairly hard i never had issues with blowing good shocks

Ill pm you.
I see where it says the HFP suspension is designed for the V6 coupe. Any reason it wouldn't work on the sedan?
call college hills honda and ask - great guys - they will know - the coupe has diff weight bias from to back, but I think it works...

so I should initially go with coils rather than just getting for example the Eibach Performance Lowering Springs for the 2013 model when they release them?
this will be my first time lowering on a car and my friends locally have told me to just buy springs. I'm only looking for a 1.5" inch drop at the most, more like 1-1.25", then plan on putting 19" rims on
if you are looking for just a 1.5 inch drop wait for the HFP system. Think about it, when Honda wants you to drop your car they don't sell you springs, they sell you a matched spring and shock (which is called a coil). The stock shocks are in constant stress when they are used with a shorter spring. Some may go years and be ok, but plenty of 8th and 7th gen guys blow in the first year. And not racing, but commuting. So it's up to you.I'm am not some boy racer that want to slam the car, I am 62 but wanted a drop more than a spring, what looks right. Here's my drop on megans for the car I just traded in. It is the perfect height in my eyes: Look at all three - stock, springs and megans:

I am waiting for a matched coil and spring from megan or Tein. Also, a spring is one drop avail - with a coil, they are threaded and you can CHANGE your drop as you move to new areas, raise them for snow, etc. In owning megans for 2 years I adjusted 3 times....to get it perfect for me....
