Not sure if this is already been posted, but I haven't seen it. I was looking the the College Hills Honda site and saw this:

http://www.collegehillshonda.com/honda_accord_2dr_accessories/2008_accord_exterior.htm

About two-thirds down the page, there is a sport suspension kit. I looks like a coil-over kit, that lowers it about an inch. It says that the status is available.

Like I said I am not sure if this has already been posted, if so Mods, please delete.

I didnt think that the HFP was available yet....

Nice...now I just need to see them installed. The nice pat is keeping my full 36 month warranty if I get them installed when I pick up the car....

someone posted pics of a dealer that was testing for eibach (supposedly)...if you wanted comparison pics of what it should be *close* to in terms of a drop... I'd dig those up ...

the HFP drop should be even milder considering eibach is planning on a drop range of 1.5" from what it sounds like ... however the pics that were posted, prob didn't account for any settling since the demo'ing cars were from a dealer and at the dealer in the pics.

I am new to performance cars...I come from a 2002 4 door civic.

$633 sounds expensive to me for suspension. Is this because it is from the dealer? What should I expect to pay of Eibachs - including installation?

Also, .98 inches does not seem like a substantial drop to me.

I want to get more info from others, but how much of the "smooth ride" will one sacrifice when dropping the car 1.5 inches or so? I want my wheel well to look more like a BMW's. The 08 Accord seems to have a lot of space in the wheel well.

Can someone expland on the plusses and minuses of the lowering the car?

The kit should come in around 550 or so, depending on your connections(no one pay full retail, come on).

FYI... I am working closely with Koni of America for a #3011 shock system for our gen accords. I had brand new OEM shocks delivered to them from honda and I am having a set built for my coupe... but if 633 sounds expensive, your not going to like the cost of 3011's :p

I'd go with Koni or H&R.

I hope I'm patient enough to wait for the Tien's....

Eibach is 1.2 inch drop not sure about after settling yet. Eibach will be available on the 29th. HFP is available now and is less than 1 inch drop. HFP comes with struts, springs, bushings and is a complete kit that doesnt void warranty if dealer installed. Im going with Eibach. Im still trying to find some aftermarket struts for the car to install at the same time. I got my Camber kit from Eibach already. Waiting for the springs to ship on the 29th. If anybody knows where I can get some struts, let me know.

and this is why the price is 633$ ...it includes all of the above. Most folk try to dump some lowering springs on stock shocks/struts and ride them until the blow out :dunno: ... personally, while doing the suspension work, why not do it all proper all at once....unless you are in the position that 8th gen'rs are now...very little to no selection outside or trial/test parts from companies.

imho, do it all...springs/struts/camber correction (if needed) via a kit of whatever/ and of course, alignment

I am never staisfied with off the shelf stuff anyway... It was just an FYI for you guys that would be less tempted to go the route I take.

Bushing... what bushing in the kit are you talking about

What kind of a ride will they give you? I'd like to lower the Coupe but a friend told me that "the space in my wheel well = comfort driving...you you lower, you decrease that comfort level."

Is it really that big of a deal?
Generally, yes. Lowering requires shortening the spring. Shorter spring = stiffer springs. Stiff springs = harsher ride.

Thats a good question to. You should can probably roll around a good amount of time before having to change the struts since it is only about a 1 inch drop. My guess on struts is either tokico blue to koni..no idea how long it'll be till they're released.
