Hi, any help or advice with the following problem would be much appreciated.
I have a 92 Honda Accord. It has very low mileage in case that makes a
difference due to only being used very infrequently.
Basically the problem is with the temperature gauge as well as heating
system.
When I start out the car and wait for the car to heat up it does so just
fine. If I drive on a highway (elevated speed) for more than 3 minutes or so
the temparture needle drops sharply and points to below the "c" mark. If I
then stop at a light or in traffic it creeps back up to normal.
The reason I noticed this is because the heat stopped working every time the needle would go below the "c" mark.
I took it to a mechanic who said that the radiator was leaking through a
small crack and this was probably the problem. However, the level of
antifreeze in there was totally fine. I pointed this out to him and he
acknowledged that this means that it's probably not the problem.
Any help would be very much appreciated! Thanks in advance!
