I have 235/45R-18 Michelin Defender2 XL on my 8th gen coupe. Been almost 2 years, no complaints. My suspension is lowered and extra stiff so I can't really give a fair judge on ride comfort but handling is good. They cost me just about $1,000 , so honestly I've been kinda babying them to keep them as last as long as possible. Extreme heat here also contributes to faster tire wear, so thats another reason I've been babying them. lol I don't go over about 40-45 mph on on/off-ramps and about 25mph around in-town curves.

If you can afford them get 'em.

What's the purpose of an XL tire on an Accord?
... I was confused by your comment, so I went to Google... apparently the XL means it's rated for a higher load capacity for things like towing... I wasn't aware. I thought it was just part of the tire model name TBH.
I see someone said the ride shouldn't really be different between an XL rating and E or P or LT if its the same tire. True?

But good to know, learn something everyday. I don't think I'm hurting or compromising anything though.

And I do like these tires, when I do decide to push my car they handle well and make the car feel quite responsive.
