I crashed my 2003 into a curb in Hollywood a few days ago (airbags deployed) and was able to drive away. As I was driving I heard loud clanking, especially on turns, from the axles. Shortly after, I was making a right turn and the passenger side axle had popped out and neither wheel has power now. I have the car on jack stands with the tranny in park and the parking break on, yet I can still spin the wheels by hand.

Would just replacing the axle fix this or will I need a new transmission?

I will post some pictures in a minute.

Even with a good axles you can spin one wheel at a time in park. They both need to turned to engage the parking pawl. Yes replacing the axle will fix the issue. Happens all the time when an axle breaks. The parking break only looks the rear wheels.

That axle came apart on the inner joint, the joint pulled apart.

How badly bent is the lower control arm or other suspension part to allow the joint to completely come out of tripod?

I also see the subframe center mount completely ripped in half about 3 inches from where it is supposed to be. That's the oval rubber part with the bracket and 1 14mm bolt visible just to the rear of the axle.

Don't drive it anymore until you find WHY the thing is ripped out like that.
