Drove a '14 v6 coupe with manual transmission yesterday and loved it. What's everyone getting for mpg, not by the trip computer but doing the actual calculation?

Dealer is wanting to move it and is offering discounts. Car seemed very well made and quiet. There was a little torque steer under hard acceleration but not unacceptable. I'm hoping that on hwy with easy 75mph cruising I could crack the 30mpg barrier and maybe 26 around town under light throttle.

Thanks

Best I have gotten on highway is 28 mpg...usually get 25 to 26 mpg in mixed driving. I drive it hard, the V6 with stick is way too much fun to baby. I consider this mileage to be pretty good for my driving style.

Never touch the Eco button. Ever.

I have the same car you mention. I have been driving for almost a year and also do NOT use econ button. I commute highway/small roads daily and like clockwork I get between 29 and 30 mpg per tank. If I was city driving this would be considerably different. The V6 is pretty unbelievable mpg wise considering I am not a straight highway commuter and have several lights/stops.

Pure highway this thing would be in low to mid 30s.

Maybe consider a I4-M6? Mine is not lacking for power and 36 hwy is not uncommon for me.

I average about 31 a tank.

OP stick with the V6 if you have the coupe, your pumping 87 and looks like everybody is averaging 28-30mpg.
Thanks to all - that's actually better than I was expecting. Will stick with the V6 - buttery smooth and quiet and so much fun with the stick. Am selling my 07 Passat 2.0T 6MT w/99K miles. Car has been great, just want to downsize a bit and go back to a normally aspirated engine.

Hoping most if not all TSB's that may have arisen on the '13 will be remedied on the '14.

Will continue to learn from this great forum.

It's my understanding that the Coupe V6 manual does not have VCM like the automatics and therefore won't get as great mileage (cruising on 3 versus 6 cylinders). I have the Coupe EX-L V6 (SNP) auto.
