Had Stage 1 done to the car this afternoon. Its actually a very mellow mod.

You definitely hear it on start up, but its subtle - there's a wonderful deep growl that lessens as the revs settle down. Sounds great upon accleration, but disappears (to my 50 y/o ears) above 2000 RPM.

Crusing around town or on the freeway, tire noise drowns out the mod. No drone on the highway. I stood behind the car at idle and couldn't hear much difference from stock. The mod's interior sound is nowhere near as loud as it appeared in the Stage 1 video example.

The wife was right, its not hooligan enough for me, so Stage 2 (Magnaflow resonator) is on the way. But this is a great mod for those who just want to know the exhaust is there. :D

I had the mod done by Muffler Time on Dawson Dr. in Camarillo California. Great little shop that's been around for ages. Charged me 30 bucks.

Also stopped by the Acura dealership and ordered a 17mm TL swaybar and related parts. Can't wait for that!

I had the stage 1 done to. Much more improvement over stock sounds. I am a big fan and I love the sound.

If you want to have some fun, open a window. Between 2-3k sounds like the car should.

The rest of the time, you can't tell. Close the windows or have any radio sound at all and you can't hear anything :lmao:

wow, I love the stage 1 soo much, If I keep my car for another year I will add it on for sure, especially because its so cheap, 30-60 bucks, Nice

Stage 2 - done!

As I reported above, Stage 1 was not enough for me, so I had the Stage 2 mod done to the car this afternoon. Rick Stout, the owner of Muffler Time in Camarillo, just laughed when he saw the big 'ol Magnaflow resonator. "You're in for it now", he said.

This install did not go as quickly as Stage 1, because rick had to fabricate some adaptors for the larger openings on the resonator.

After about 30 minutes, the job was done and we all held our breath as I started the car, expecting VA-ROOM! Instead, we heard Va-room.

The wonderful deepness and subtleness of Stage 1 remains, but is more there and only slightly louder. The sound at idle was still barely perceptible, but blip the throttle and it suddenly comes alive, sounding very G35-ish.

Pulling away from stop signs and tooling around town, the sound is again only moderately louder than stage 1 and I found myself having to listen for it at times. The mod can still get lost in the road and tire noise on the freeway. I climbed the Camarillo Grade on Hwy 101 at around 75 mph and the interior of the car remained comfortable and quiet with no drone, rasp or rice.

Overall I'm real happy this time around. Those of you (myself included) who admire the sound of a G35 accelerating from a stop will be happy with the sound that the Stage 2 produces, which is very classy and fitting with the image of the Accord.

You should have done like it did and got the 04 TL-S sway bar. Its 20mm

Maybe you're right. I had the 17mm bar installed last Friday and frankly, I'm underwhelmed. Can't say that I noticed much difference in roll stiffness betweent that and the stock bar. Others on the board have had better results.

Do I just replace from the 3rd cat on up to the pipe splitter with 2.5" piping? would it be better to go with 2.25" piping to make sure I dont lose too much backpressure?

Ok, i just joined this site, so therefore heres the late reply, but i just cant get over this freakin sweet exhaust set up. I cant stop druling over this, which was found in the first post with the link. I come from previous domestic muscle car experience and this definately catches my eye. Too bad i dont have a V6. LOL :jawdrop:

I still love it in the TL. It attracts a lot more attention by people watching me pull away and I love the sound.

Gotta say...best mod to my car yet.

Too bad you have the 4...but welcome to the site!

Hey guys,

I'm a new member and I was about to do the stage 2 on my 03 accord v6 coupe, but then when i took my car to the exhaust shop, they told me it would sound exactly the same if i just switched the resonator. I ended up jumping from stage 2 all the way down to stage 4 lol. I don't understand why on video it sounds so raspy for the tl's, but for my car it sounds pretty damn quiet. It sounds only a little louder than stock. It has a slight G35 sound to it as well. There's no rasp at all...AT ALL. So if anyone wants to know, i removed both the mid-muffler and the resonator and replaced both with 2.5in straight piping. That's my experience...hope it helps some people make decisions.
