Washington DC Auto Show - Accord a "No Show"
So last night I checked DC auto show website, before heading down today to check out new cars. Clearly website showed a 2023 Accord as being on display at show. Not a hybrid but gasoline powered. No big since I was mainly interested in checking out exterior and interior, which is identically for both the gasoline powered and hybrid powered models.
After picking up the Auto show floor map display I immediately noticed how small a space Honda had reserved. It wasn't even 1/4 the size of Toyota. Then when I got to the second level I walked up to a Honda assistant and asked where's your 2023 Accord. The cold response was "We don't have an Accord here". " Interesting" I replied and why is that? The Honda assistant replied "the new Accord just came out three days ago". With such a bogus excuse, I just shook my head and walked away.
Now lets turn our attention to Chevy Equinox EV, which is completely a different vehicle then the 2023 Accord except for it starting price/price range. Both the Accord and Equinox are priced very equal. But the Equinox won't come out until late fall with its limited edition R2S trim with the rest of the line coming out in 2024. Like a year off. But guess what? Chevy had the 2023/2024 Equinox EV on full display (blocked off) at DC auto show. Twelve plus months before they come out with basic trim level.
Thanks Honda for your no show in DC and lack of interest in showing buying public what you might have to offer this month, next month or rest of year. Obviously Honda has little interest in Auto Show display, so anyone out there interested in viewing new Accord (up front and personal) will have to do so at Honda dealership. Not the end of the world, but sometimes it's nice to look over a new car, hybrid, EV without some salesperson breathing down your neck.

It won’t get sold out. Ok, maybe initially, but there will be plenty for sale sooner or later.
I’d just relax, check out the specs you like, and walk in to your favorite local Honda dealer a month from now. You’ll be pleasantly surprised. 😉

Obviously. Wouldn't be surprised if Honda had the fewest car displays at DC show. Toyota rolls out new 2023 Prius Hybrid in October last year and its all over the net. Ten to sixteen independent car review by auto experts. Total breakdown of car performance (good and bad) and pictures galore. Toyota had both the Prices Hybrid and Prime at DC auto show. Prime on rotating platform, with lots of attention. Yet Hybrid hasn't hit dealers yet and Prime won't come out until April/May. Toyota seems to want to build "excitement".Honda doesn't care.
