Has anyone done this mod to their Honda? With the price of gas at +$4 gal. this web site states this mod can increase MPG 40% to 50%. I'm tempted to try it but wanna hear from others to see if they have done it and if it really works.:dunno:

I googled this and there are several other similar companies...but this one is the least expensive...like $140 or so....and seems easy.

These "systems" are a total scam. Think about it:

"HHO" is nothing more or less than water vapor. H20 (water-liquid/gas/solid) is either found in that form or as its constituent elements hydrogen (H2-a diatomic molecule) and oxygen (O2-also diatomic). There is no "HHO." The very terminology used by companies for these products indicates a total lack of understanding of the chemistry behind them.

These systems are actually electrolyzers--devices that use an electric current to separate water into its constituent elements. The "HHO" device is hooked to your car's battery. When you start your car, the device draws current from your battery to electrolyze water. Some hydrogen (H2) and oxygen gas (O2) is created and fed to the intake manifold. (H2 and O2, not HHO). Electrolysis probably where pure hydrogen gas for fuel cell vehicles, if they ever take off, will come from. The problem with this process is that it requires more energy to separate water into hydrogen gas and oxygen gas than you get from burning the hydrogen gas. In other words, the process is not 100% efficient.

The bottom line? This device will draw current from your car's electrical system, which increases the load on your engine. In that manner, it effectively reduces your fuel economy. Now, keep in mind the above: no electrolyzer is 100% efficient. So this device will not even return enough combustible hydrogen and oxygen gas to compensate for the energy it took from your electrical system. Furthermore, gasoline engines are only 20-30% efficient, so you won't even get 100% of the energy from the hydrogen/oxygen gas mixture generated by the device.

Also keep in mind that your car is designed to burn gasoline, not pure hydrogen or oxygen gas. The extra oxygen this device generates will be detected by the oxygen sensor, and may in fact cause your car to inject more fuel to maintain the appropriate gasoline/oxygen mixture. The ONLY way you will see a fuel economy increase is if somehow the gas mixture confuses your ECU enough to run the engine lean. This will eventually destroy your engine.

It doesn't work. Like a perpetual motion machine, it sounds good, but it can't work. Technically, Brown's gas burns and releases energy, but it can't approach the claims these guys make. It violates laws of thermodynamics, which are, simply:

1) You can't win. (There's no free lunch.)
2) You can't break even (There are always losses somewhere.)
3) You can't quit the game. (There's no escaping these laws.)

Among other things, it takes more energy to split the water molecule into hydrogen and oxygen than you get back from the energy released when the two are burned to make - water!

One reason some people are so in love with hydrogen as a fuel, apart from its cleanliness and its ready availability, is that it provides a way of storing and transporting cheap electricity. Some say that cheap juice is hydro; others, nuclear; and others, solar. Of course, right now that cheap electricity is a big assumption.

This is not a new idea. You can look up Brown's Gas in Wikipedia for more enlightenment.
