I just ran out of Meguiars Gold Class which is a pretty good wax. I've had this can for years so things might have changed out there with all the polymer products surfacing. Any recs as to what I should try out? I hear good things about Zaino but it's expensive and time consuming.

I'm a huge fan of Collinite #845. Meguiars Gold looks nice, for about 2 days. Collinite will go on for months.

Also wrong forums. Refer to the Maintenance and Detailing forums here http://www.driveaccord.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=18 . Any of your questions probably has already been answered there. Do a simple search and thy shalt find your way. :D

I went with Collinite after reading one of RTex's posts. After several months it still beads like crazy on my 02.

Ive always thought the best wax didnt bead water...........because it just sits there............but, the water rolls off. I was given a wax like this from the dealer when I bought my 95 Accord new. I would apply the wax, and the water would just roll off..........no beading or water standing on the cars paint. I have yet to find another wax that does this.

That's awesome. Do you remember which wax they gave you?

There was another wax in a light teal blue bottle that I used and worked well..I just don't remember the name :dunno:

No I dont............Im hoping someone in here has used this wax before. Like I said.....it came from the dealer. Once I used it up, I intended to go back and get some more, but I guess I forgot. :dunno:
I may give them a call and see if its still available........but, its been so long. It was the best wax I have ever used hands down. :notworthy

Nope I just bought the same wax Gold Class it's great. The big deal about waxing it getting the old wax off and your exposed paint perfectly clean. I recently removed my old wax with plain Dawn dishwashing soap. Then I used a claybar to remove anything left on my paint (there was a lot in certain areas), then I waxed it again. The whole process took about 10 hours but it was well worth it.

Long story short, it isn't so much about the wax you use on your car as it is waxing it correctly.

That is all fine and well but your 10 hours of effort will only last 2-4 weeks. Collinite will last 4-6 months. Which would you rather use next time?

What do you want out of a wax/sealant?

I am a huge fan of Ultima Paint Guard Plus, http://autogeek.net/ultima-paint-guard-plus-4.html

It applies in no time, literally 5 minutes, lasts about 3 months and looks great.

I mainly use this, Collinite 476 or Pinnacle Souveran, which looks great but only lasts about a month.
Love the fact you don't have to buff it off after application. My arms were about to fall off this weekend after detailing two cars with Duragloss 101.

Wonder how this stuff compares to Optimum's Opti-seal?

Marque D'Elegance

Anyone try Collinite's Marque D'Elegance? It's supposed to have the highest concentration of Carnuba on the market.

Wow thanks for that website. I'm going to bookmark it when I decide to try Collinite. I currently have my eyes on Auto Balm right now.
After speaking with the owner, he recommended the 476S for durability. The more expensive 915 is for show cars that don't see much light of day. It doesn't last as long. I read that people at Collinite don't use the expensive stuff. They recommend the 476 also.

I was leaning on trying that one out or 845 when the time comes. My car needs to be professionally polished before I can use 845 as my car is filled with swirls. So I just gotta keep hiding the swirls until then.

Call owner Peter Macaluso at the site. He seemed very knowledgable. Maybe he can advise you as he did me. 877-622-8321.
